FIU has been a driving force in transforming lives, advancing research, and strengthening the South Florida community. Today, that legacy takes a bold new form. With the official groundbreaking of the Helen and Jacob Shaham Academic Medical Center, Florida International University - Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and Baptist Health are laying the foundation for a new era of medicine, one defined by world-class education and innovative research. FIU graduates go on to lead industries, serve communities, and solve the challenges of our time. The physicians and researchers who will train in this facility will carry that same spirit and their impact will be felt across South Florida and beyond for generations to come. The first bite is just the beginning. 🦖 Yesterday, a dinosaur-painted excavator took its first bite out of the Children's Hospital garage marking the start of demolition which will make way for the future Pagidipati Children's Hospital at St. Joseph's. This milestone clears the way for a new chapter in pediatric care to expand access, advance specialty services, and change lives for families across West Central Florida. Exciting progress lies ahead, and we look forward to celebrating each milestone together.

  • We’re proud to announce that Edwige Clark, a project director on our Miami-Fort Lauderdale team, has been named chair of the 2026 Broward Hard Hats with Heart campaign! This year-long initiative, in partnership with the American Heart Association, is dedicated to advancing heart health awareness, advocacy, and education for construction professionals across our region. Edwige will lead the campaign alongside our team members Operations Manager Johnathan Peavy, Division Director of MEP Services Kyle Davis, and Senior Project Manager Robert Creswick, each of whom will serve on the leadership team. Together, they’re working to integrate health, well-being, and prevention solutions into the construction industry’s culture — because people are the foundation of everything we build. With construction workers facing higher risks for heart disease and stroke, Hard Hats with Heart inspires companies to prioritize employee health through healthy food options, physical activity, stress-reducing programs, and life-saving education like Hands-Only CPR. Join us in supporting this important cause and showing our workforce that their health and well-being truly come first. #GivingWithPurpose

  • During Earth Month 2026, our team members across the country came together to make a lasting impact on our environment. Nearly 1,000 team members submitted sustainability pledges as part of our Pick Your Pledge initiative, a campaign we launched more than a decade ago to raise awareness of the simple ways we can live more sustainably. It encourages us all to look at our daily actions to see how we can take small steps to improve environmental and social well-being. Nearly 300 of those pledges were related to sustainability at our Building Forward® Connect 2026 event — whether through sustainable travel or sustainable habits while at the conference. In return, we’re planting 980 trees, which reduces 490 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere and generates $2,450 in downstream community income and benefits. Thank you to each of our team members who made a pledge!
