Today I have a major milestone update to share… When Mika was born and I was feeding her my breast milk, little did she know I was cooking something that would impact the future of women’s health. It was strange to me that postnatal vitamins weren’t really a category. But what was more strange to me was that there were almost no academic papers showing the impact that moms intake of supplements could have on the quality of human breast milk. I wanted to change that so at Ritual we formulated a postnatal vitamin. I wanted more proof, so over many years we conducted a double blind placebo controlled human clinical study. Today we have the results of that study. Not did we show that we can materially impact the quality of human breast milk with Ritual essential postnatal, but to our knowledge we are the first to show an increase 3-FL HMO (human milk oligosaccharide). Proud is an understatement. Grateful is even more of an understatement. To have a team that is contributing to women’s health research is what I live for!

Being a mom didn’t hold me back, it showed me exactly what needed to be built. One investor told me I couldn’t have a business and a family. But being a mom showed innovation opportunity, it solidified my desire for investment in clinical research for maternal heath. And now on the heels of a clinical study published on our prenatal research in frontiers on methylated folate, and a new study on postpartum supplementation on quality of human breast milk.
