Thank you to the NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions for another strong annual meeting in Syracuse, and for including Revive Environmental in Session 2B. Eric Drugotch and Mandy Klaben, P.E. presented alongside Zachary P. at Allonnia, with Michelle Crimi at Clarkson University moderating. The session covered PFAS destruction in landfill leachate from multiple angles and was broadcast LIVE. It was also Mandy's first time presenting on behalf of Revive. Way to go, Mandy! #PFAS #PFASDestruction #HealthyWater #Landfill #SCWO #MakingPFASHistory

Heading to the Battelle's 2026 Chlorinated Conference? Come find us at Booth 516. Three Revive staff members are in the formal program this year: John Anderson presenting on #AFFF foam transition, Eric Drugotch co-chairing site characterization, and Tiffany Stegner co-chairing water treatment and presenting on spent media management pathways. Rick Gillespie is also serving on the steering committee and judging the student poster competition. If you're working through what to do with PFAS, we want to have that conversation. Fort Worth, Texas, May 31 through June 4. See you there! #PFAS #PFASDestruction #BattelleChlorinated #Remediation #MakingPFASHistory

Much news about the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announcement on May 18, "EPA Advances Comprehensive PFAS Strategy with Legally Defensible, Practical, Scientifically Sound Drinking Water Protections" (link below). For Revive Environmental, we were glad to see the EPA include supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) in the announcement. From the EPA press release: "That toolkit spans proven separation technologies that pull PFAS out of water, such as granular activated carbon, ion exchange resins, and high-pressure membranes such as reverse osmosis, alongside a class of destruction technologies under study, such as supercritical water oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, hydrothermal alkaline treatment, non-thermal plasma, and the pyrolysis and gasification of PFAS-laden residuals." EPA is naming the destruction technologies it considers part of the path forward, in the same announcement that delivered nearly $1 billion in new state drinking water funding and reaffirmed the 4 parts per trillion (ppt) Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) for PFOA and PFOS. The agency also moved its PFAS Destruction and Disposal Guidance to annual updates earlier this year, which signals the destruction toolkit will be revisited frequently as field performance data comes in. A second proposed rule revisits the MCLs for PFHxS, PFNA, HFPO-DA, and the Hazard Index on procedural grounds. The Safe Drinking Water Act's (SDWA's) anti-backsliding provision in Section 1412(b)(9) will be a factor as this moves forward. It generally limits revising a National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) to be less protective than the existing standard, and how it applies to a procedural reset is something utilities and states will be watching. EPA's signal today is that PFAS destruction is part of the solution. Revive's PFAS Annihilator® is the commercially permitted SCWO platform delivering verified destruction today. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/er_ha474 #PFASdestruction #SCWO #PFASAnnihilator #EPA #MakingPFASHistory

WBNS-TV, Ohio, covered Franklin Township Fire Department's story last night. The video is embedded in our blog. Over 20 years, Franklin Township accumulated more than 1,300 gallons of PFAS-containing AFFF from different manufacturers. Through Ohio's AFFF Takeback Program, they surrendered it all for permanent destruction at Revive's Columbus facility. That 1,300 gallons was more than 10 percent of the 13,000+ gallons Ohio collected from 120 fire departments statewide. Revive CEO Rick Gillespie presented Chief Robert Arnold with a Certificate of Processing last week: documented proof that their foam has been permanently eliminated, not relocated. https://lnkd.in/eV4qY_nn #PFAS #AFFF #Ohio #FireSafety #PFASDestruction #MakingPFASHistory

The Revive Environmental team is on a bit of a New York tour this week. Eric Drugotch and Mandy Klaben, P.E. wrapped up two great days at the Federation of NY Solid Waste & Recycling Conference at the Sagamore. Great conversations with solid waste professionals from across the Northeast. From there, they head straight to Syracuse for the 4th Annual Meeting of the NYS Center of Excellence in Healthy Water Solutions (CoE). At the CoE meeting, Eric and Mandy are presenting alongside Zachary P. of Allonnia, with Michelle Crimi of Clarkson University moderating: "Field Deployment of Integrated Foam Fractionation and Supercritical Water Oxidation for PFAS Treatment in Landfill Leachate" The short version: a full-scale field demonstration treating PFOS and PFOA in landfill leachate at a major U.S. landfill, with treated effluent achieving concentrations consistent with current EPA drinking water standards. If you're at the CoE meeting, find them. If you're managing PFAS in leachate and want to see the data, reach out. #PFAS #LandfillLeachate #MakingPFASHistory #SCWO #ReviveEnvironmental

Appreciate Battelle and the National Waste & Recycling Association for convening today’s Senate staff briefing on PFAS. Revive was glad to be part of it. Met with congressional staffers and media today covering several critical issues, including the need for clarity on PFAS effluent guidelines and “ready-now, permitted” destruction facilities for various PFAS waste streams.
Today, Battelle and the National Waste & Recycling Association convened a Senate staff briefing on PFAS, bringing together policymakers and experts to discuss PFAS destruction approaches, waste‑stream challenges, and public‑health impacts. Panelists included Amy Dindal, Director of Environment & Agriculture at Battelle; Anne Germain, Chief of Technical & Regulatory Affairs at the National Waste & Recycling Association; and Ben Grumbles, Executive Director of the Environmental Council of the States. The session was moderated by Pat Rizzuto, Chemicals Reporter, Bloomberg Law. #PFAS #PublicHealth #EnvironmentalInnovation #Battelle

We provided the Franklin, Ohio, Township Fire Department with a Certificate of Processing confirming the complete destruction of 1,300+ gallons of Aqueous Film-Forming Foam. On Monday, The Columbus Dispatch visited our facility and documented the full operation: AFFF and landfill leachate staged for treatment, the PFAS Annihilator running, the control room, the effluent tanks where treated water is tested before release. Fire departments and airports across the country are replacing legacy AFFF. The foam contains PFAS compounds that accumulate in soil, groundwater, and human tissue. Replacing it is only half the job. The old foam still has to go somewhere. The Dispatch documented what happens next. New Jersey. New Hampshire. Ohio. Three state environmental agencies ran major PFAS collection programs. Each evaluated every available disposal option. Each chose supercritical water oxidation. Procurement decisions made by people who did their homework. We wrote about what drove those decisions, and about what EPA's 2026 guidance actually says. The short version: the regulatory picture is more nuanced than the headlines suggest. https://lnkd.in/eqPQDZkP #PFAS #AFFFDisposal #PFASDestruction #MakingPFASHistory

Great week sharing Revive’s PFAS destruction story in Europe. First time at IFAT Munich. It did not disappoint. The scale of the trade show reflects how broadly PFAS has impacted the water and waste industry. Great to connect with customers and colleagues. From Munich to Seville for the first JRC INCITE PFAS conference. Thank you to Sara Tejedor for the invitation to present. The room included policy makers, member state representatives, academics, technology providers, and NGOs, all focused on the future of PFAS treatment. Great to learn from our European colleagues on how they are thinking about PFAS. One theme that stood out to me is Europe is much more concerned about TFA than the US. Good to know that Revive is chain length agnostic when it comes to PFAS destruction.
