Back in 2015 I attended the first Reforge growth series (called SVBR at the time) where I got to meet Brian Balfour. That experience shaped how I thought about growth and product for years. Fast forward to today and I couldn't be more excited to share that Sandhya Hegde and I are teaching the newest Reforge course: AI Evals 201. Join us on Feb 26th to get a sneak peek into the course where we’ll be covering: ⁉️ What exactly is a trace 🧐 How to do trace analysis with no 3P apps 🛣️ How to convert trace codes into an eval-driven roadmap Most AI PMs still aren't looking at their trace data. That's a problem: traces are the only source of truth for how your AI product actually works. Sign up to learn more: https://luma.com/0hi3gwh2

  • 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. If you've been meaning to level up this year, this is the moment to actually do it. We've built courses specifically for the environment product teams are operating in right now. It's easier than ever to build something. It's harder than ever to build the right thing. These courses are designed to close that gap. This cohort includes live instruction from experts at 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗔𝗜, 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗔𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲, 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻, 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻, 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲. You're not just watching videos. You're learning alongside peers who are facing the exact same problems you are. A few courses worth highlighting: 🎓 𝗔𝗜 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 teaches you how to define, measure, and improve the quality of AI agents. This is the skill most AI-focused teams are missing right now. 📊 𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 helps you rethink how you compete in one of the most intense strategic environments product leaders have ever seen. 📈 𝗔𝗜 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 makes sure you understand what is changing, what isn't, and how to build a sustainable growth system that still wins. 👥 𝗔𝗜 𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 is all about learning how to lead effectively in the AI era, balancing an evolving strategy, tooling, team structure, and go-to-market motion. There are 13 courses in total across AI, product, growth, and core PM skills. Whether you're trying to break into AI or just sharpen the fundamentals, there's something here for you. Enrollment is open now. Link in the comments.

Today, we're launching Synthetic Users at Reforge! This insanely cool feature allows PMs to create AI personas that match their real buyers and users, then send them out to analyze their product and prototypes. In my own testing, I found it works extremely well for content as well. 1️⃣ Give it a URL of a doc or blog post 2️⃣ Create personas to match your own audience (e.g. The Strategic Decision-Maker, the End User, etc.) 3️⃣ Set your goals (e.g. "Read this post and look for gaps in the hypothesis" etc) 4️⃣ Let the agents do their thing I did this for our recent update to the "Four Fits" framework (link in comments) and asked two Synthetic Users to assess from the POV of a CEO and an operator. The feedback is fascinating because it doesn't pat you on the back: 📢 "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘈𝘐 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘴 (𝘦.𝘨., 8-𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳-𝘻𝘦𝘳𝘰), 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘭𝘦’𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘹𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯." 📢 "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘎𝘗𝘛/𝘈𝘌𝘖 𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘈𝘌𝘖 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘴, 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯." Are synthetic users a full-on replacement for your own editorial judgment and feedback from your peers? No, of course not. But it's an incredible way to get different points of view on your work very quickly. If you create clear personas, they will bring that point of view into their feedback. Even better, you can apply their feedback and then send them out again to confirm if their concerns have been addressed. Your first test is free. Also, drop the code 𝘀𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 in to get a free month. 🚀 Link in the comments 👇

  • 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦. We launched Synthetic Users in Reforge Build to fix this. Create AI personas that match your real users and buyers, point them at any URL or prototype, and get a full usability study back in minutes. Not bug reports. Strategic product feedback. 💡 A 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿 catches confusing onboarding language your team stopped seeing months ago 💡 A 𝗦𝗸𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗿 questions whether your pricing page builds enough trust to convert 💡 A 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗿 finds friction in core workflows that slows down the people who matter most Every finding links to a session replay so you can see exactly where things broke down. This isn't a replacement for talking to real users. It's an acceleration layer that lets you catch issues early and save human research for the decisions that matter most. Your first test is free. Use code 𝗦𝗬𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗖 for a free month of premium. Link in the comments.

One-shot (almost) Opus 4.6 guiding animation for next week’s launch. No external video edit tool. No design tool. Most PMs still treat marketing as downstream. That’s a bug. It’s time to prototype the entire arc: intent → experience → code → user communication When code becomes part of crafting the story, launches stop feeling like campaigns and start feeling like product.

🆕 🚢 Just Shipped: Component Variations Explore multiple variants of any part of your product in one click. The bottleneck in product development is shifting from building to deciding what to build. Pre-AI, exploration was expensive and tempting to skip. Many teams would commit to the first idea that sounded good because testing alternatives meant weeks of work. Now execution is faster. But the pressure to decide what to build is higher. And if you're not exploring more before you commit, you're just building the wrong thing faster. This creates product debt: an accumulation of features that are relatively easy to build but no one actually uses. The Reforge team shipped Component Variations today to help close this gap. → Select any component, card, section, or screen in your prototype → Generate four different versions of just that element in minutes → Compare them side by side before you commit → Everything else in your prototype stays exactly the same This extends the exploration capability we launched with project-level Variations deeper into the workflow. You can explore direction at kickoff, then continue exploring as you refine. Your first idea is rarely your best idea. And those tiny decisions make or break whether users actually adopt your feature. Make of copy of the demo prototype in the comments to try it yourself.

  • 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧. We launched Reforge Build with a different belief. Better products come from exploring more options before you commit, not from committing faster. Speed helps you cover more surface area, not just move faster for the sake of it. Reforge Build, our AI prototyping tool, now offers two ways to explore: 1️⃣ Turn on 𝗩𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 when starting a new prototype to brainstorm different directions. 𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦: 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢 𝘒𝘢𝘯𝘣𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘢 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘣𝘰𝘹 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘴. 2️⃣ Use 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to brainstorm smaller decisions like buttons, cards, modals, and forms. 𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦: 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘷𝘴 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘴. This makes it easy to explore many possible solutions to any product decision. And exploring more options leads to better products. Your first idea is rarely your best one. And tiny decisions compound to become great products. You can see how it works, remix the prototype in the video and try it free. All three links in the comments.

One pattern I'm seeing repeatedly: teams don't struggle because they lack ideas or customer insight. They struggle because it takes too long to turn understanding into something real enough to align on and validate. That's what stood out working with Lewis Gavin and the team at easyfundraising. Their story covers what changed when insight became shared context, and when teams could move from a surfaced signal to a realistic prototype fast enough to learn before decisions hardened. The outcome was learning cycles compressing, earlier alignment, and better decisions under real constraints. Big credit to Lewis for pushing this forward, and to big homie Brian Balfour for consistently grounding our work at Reforge in how teams actually operate. If you're building AI‑native products and thinking about speed beyond shipping, this one's worth your time. 👉 Read full article in comment

User research is a two-sided marketplace. - Supply side: real people willing to talk. - Demand side: enough researchers with time (and enough emotion budget) to listen, which ends up with a PM needs to test 4 concepts, gets budget for 6 interviews, makes a $2M roadmap decision off vibes and a small sample. Yesterday Reforge launched AI interviewers to fix this. The infra is ready for that same PM to have 200 conversations with one researcher in one week. Demand side is solved. Supply side: we're shipping something soon that questions what "real users" even means. Both will start arguments. Roast this take or defend it. Either way I want to hear it.
