Earlier this week I shared a first look at our new live coaching feature. 🤓 For the technically inclined here is deep dive written by Isaac A. on how we brought this experience to life inside of Reflection using the latest from Flutter Dev, the Gemini Live API, Firebase, and VertexAI. https://lnkd.in/ejtPGpiF

Here's a quick, first look at a feature we’ve dreamed about: Live Coaching. You can now have real-time, two-way voice conversations with your journal. It references past entries to find patterns, answer questions, and like in this video demo, help set intentions for 2026. Instead of generic advice, it picks up on themes like my perfectionism in design, balancing family time, and the joy of coding with the team. It feels less like "talking to AI" and more like chatting with a wise friend who gets me. After each session, you get a summary with key takeaways. We're still early—this is a beta feature—but the experience and convenience of chatting with your journal on a walk is a delight. We're doing much more with voice as we expand from a journal into a personal growth companion...More to come!

We just passed 1,000,000 journal entries. That is over a million moments of clarity, gratitude, venting, and growth that our users have trusted Reflection with since we started. We are now seeing over a thousand new entries being created every single day. 🤯 Building a consumer app is hard. Building a habit-forming product is even harder. More than a vanity metric, this number represents retention and trust—people aren't just downloading the app; they are using it to live more reflective and meaningful lives — and that for me is what it is all about. Huge thank you to our team and everyone who has supported us on this journey. We are already a few years in, but trust me, we are just getting started. Wait till you see what we have in store for 2026. Here. We. Go. 👊

For a few years now, Jess and I have sent a family "Year in Review" as a holiday card to reconnect with friends and family. It became a tradition we loved, but building it manually was always a pain. So this year, I flexed my vibe-coding skills and built a free tool to make it easy for anyone to create their own! 🤓 It’s a simple, free website builder to tell the story of your year. See the video below for a quick demo. What you can do: • Add your favorite photos & memories • Highlight key people & moments • Customize the design • Share with a simple link It's perfect for individuals, families, and teams. I’d love to see what you create! 💌 Happy holidays! #BuildingInPublic #SideProject #YearInReview #VibeCoding #Design

It’s like Spotify Wrapped, but for your journal. 🤯 With a single click, Reflection gathers your entries from 2025 and instantly generates a beautiful summary of your year—identifying key themes, celebrating wins, and highlighting growth patterns. It doesn’t replace the deep work of reflection—it just gives you a massive head start. Everything is easy to edit, and you can optionally share it with close friends and loved ones with a private link. Download Reflection and try it today!👇

  • Our co-founder David and CTO Bryan Price pulled back the curtain on how Reflection ships at lightning speed across all platforms. 🤫 The secret? An innovative AI-powered development workflow where AI agents collaborate, review each other's code, and debate implementation details. Watch as Bryan demonstrates our process from task to production-ready PR, featuring: • Custom Anthropic Claude Code MCP integrations • Automated AI code reviews with CodeRabbit • AI agents learning from each other's feedback • 98% production-ready code before human review This approach lets our small team focus on what matters most: creating meaningful experiences that help our users develop a powerful reflection practice. And special shoutout to Isaac for connecting all dev dots between front and backend, and pushing all these features live to our users at the speed of AI. So excited for what's to come, expect big things! #Reflection #JournalingApp #AIAgents #ProductDevelopment #StartupInnovation #FutureOfWork

🎬 Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how we're shipping months of new features each week at Reflection using AI agents that fundamentally change the development process. The game-changer? Our AI agents don't just write code—they review each other's work. 🛠️ Here's the overview: • Task starts in Asana (though moving to Linear soon) • Claude Code pulls tasks via custom MCP commands • AI studies our codebase, designs, and documentation (plus web research when needed) • Creates a detailed task description including details down to test coverage requirements • Implements production-ready code following our existing guidelines with full test coverage • Automatically opens a GitHub PR • CodeRabbit immediately reviews the code line-by-line • Claude responds to feedback—accepting or defending its approach (this is a custom built workflow we created) • Both AIs learn from each interaction, and save learnings for future tasks 🙌 The result? 98% production-ready code before human review. 🤯 My favorite part...watching Claude and CodeRabbit debate implementation details in the GitHub comments. They're literally teaching each other to become better developers, as they both better understand our codebase and requirements. It's hard to put this magic to words, so I sat down with our CTO, Bryan and we recorded a quick walkthrough showing exactly how this works. If you're interested in the future of software development (or generally real world implementations of agentic AI) I think you'll enjoy the video. Would love to hear what you think, and what ways you are using (or looking to use) agentic AI in your workflow. 🤠 It's definitely an exciting time to building...

I'm often asked what sets Reflection apart from other journaling apps. The truth is, it's not just one thing — it's how these features work together to instantly help you de-stress and gain clarity: ✨ AI Journaling Companion - Think of it as your personal writing coach, offering real-time feedback and helping you gain perspective on your thoughts 🔍 AI-Enhanced Search - Find patterns across years of writing in seconds. Ask questions like "What are my self-limiting beliefs?" and get insights directly from your past experiences. 🎙️ Voice Journaling - Sometimes the easiest way to get all your thoughts is simply to verbally dump them out - unfiltered. Speak your thoughts and get back clear, organized entries 📚 Expert Guide Library - Hundreds of prompts from personal growth and wellness professionals to help deepen your practice 📱 Cross-Platform - Start on your phone, finish on your computer. Your journal stays synced everywhere. The magic happens when these features flow into each other... Voice journaling flows into AI coaching. Search reveals patterns that guides help you explore deeper. But here's what I think truly sets us apart: we're not just builders, we're daily users. Every time we experience friction or see an opportunity, we ship updates. We're always listening and iterating. I think this shows in the product's subtlety—features are there when you need them, invisible when you don't. Building something minimal yet powerful is always challenging, but finding that balance is why our users love returning to Reflection. With this new video I tried to capture the magic of Reflection in less than 2 minutes. I'd love to hear what you think! #Reflection #MentalHealth #AITools #Journaling #SelfDevelopment #PersonalGrowth #MentalFitness

⚡🎙️ We just launched enhanced voice journaling in Reflection, and it's already changing how people capture their thoughts. Here's what we've learned: Sometimes the barrier to reflection isn't lack of time or ideas — it's the friction of getting thoughts from your head onto the page. Voice journaling removes that friction entirely. Whether you're: • Walking and processing your day • Brainstorming solutions to a work challenge • Capturing insights during your commute • Simply feeling overwhelmed by the blank page You can now just tap and start talking. Our enhanced voice-to-text transforms your spoken thoughts into clear, organized journal entries. But here's where it gets really powerful: Voice journaling combined with our AI coaching creates a unique dynamic. You speak your initial thoughts freely, then our AI companion can kick back deeper questions, offer perspective, or help you explore patterns. The result? More authentic, stream-of-consciousness reflection that goes deeper than surface-level thoughts. Less editing yourself before you even begin, more genuine insight through guided exploration. Personal growth happens when we create space for honest self-reflection. Sometimes that space is found not in perfect prose, but in the simple act of speaking our truth — and having the right questions asked in return.
