About us

Rationale Brewing broke into the non-alcoholic craft beer scene in 2022, founded by Wendy Pickett and Jamie Fay - and has been crushing brews its own way ever since. Brewing real beer, fully fermented then de-alcoholized, RationAle delivers full flavor, body, and bite without compromise. Rooted in surf, skate, and craft culture, it’s the official pacer beer - built for good times without missing a step.

Mental health impacts every workplace, every community, and every industry. As Co-Founder Jamie Fay shares, this commitment is personal to us. That’s why 1% of all sales from RationAle Brewing go directly to mental health causes across the country. Through our Crush the Crisis initiative, we support accessible, affordable wellness spaces and programs that meet people where they are. We’re proud to partner with organizations like Portal Foundation, one of many groups helping drive real impact in communities nationwide. Real change happens when businesses step up. If your company believes in leading with purpose, we’d love to connect.

  • We’re #hiring. Know anyone who might be interested? We didn't build RationAle to be another option on the shelf. We built it to redefine what NA beer can be. 🍺 Now we're looking for someone to own Los Angeles. Our LA Market Sales Manager will be the face of the brand in one of the most competitive beverage markets in the country - building distributor relationships, driving retail velocity, and showing up where it matters. This is a brand-building role with real ownership, equity opportunity, and a product people actually get stoked on. 2+ years in beverage or CPG. Distributor experience. Based in LA. DM us or hit the link. 🤙

  • This May, we’re proud to partner with the Andy Irons Foundation to launch “Check In, Before You Drop In” for Mental Health Awareness Month. Rooted in surf culture, the campaign is a simple reminder: before you show up for anything else, check in with yourself and the people around you. As part of this initiative, RationAle will: - Donate $2 from every 6-pack sold nationwide throughout May - Contribute 1% of Hawaii sales year-round to support the Foundation’s work Together, we’re working to make mental health conversations more open, more consistent, and more human, while supporting real resources in the communities that need them most. This partnership is deeply personal for our team, and an honor to help continue Andy Irons’ legacy alongside Lyndie Irons and the Foundation. Check in. Stay present. Show up for each other. https://lnkd.in/g8_keydi #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #CheckInBeforeYouDropIn #RationAleBrewing #AndyIronsFoundation

  • We’re excited to welcome the newest member of the RationAle team! Olivia is officially joining us as our Northern California Sales Representative, covering San Francisco and the North Bay. Born and raised in Sonoma County, Olivia brings deep local knowledge and strong market familiarity to the role. She’s already hitting the ground running by visiting accounts, supporting our distributor partners, and helping expand access to great non-alcoholic craft beer throughout the Bay Area. You’ll find Olivia out in San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma hosting tastings, supporting events, and spreading the word about RationAle. If you see her out and about, be sure to say hello and grab a RationAle 🍺

  • A lot of people want to host a Super Bowl watch party this year and they're stretching to make it happen. 🏈 According to the National Retail Federation's 2025 Super Bowl Spending Survey, total game-day spending is expected to reach a record $18.6 billion, averaging $91.58 per person. Food and beverages account for 81% of that spending, and separate estimates show the average party host is now spending between $139 and $215 just on food and drinks alone, depending on the menu and the city. That's a real number and for a lot of hosts, it's a stretch. Grocery prices are still up, and many of the game-day staples people love (wings, avocados, even pizza) have gotten more expensive year over year. This year we've opted to do a giveaway in response to that reality. Instead of just selling more product, we want to help lighten the load for a few of the people who are doing the work of bringing everyone together. It's open to all of you on LinkedIn as well, because behind every job title here, there's also someone budgeting for snacks, straightening up the living room, and making sure there's something in the fridge for every kind of drinker. We'll share full giveaway details on January 26. In the meantime: if you're planning to host or attend, how are rising costs changing the way you do game day?

  • We’re honored to be recognized in The Guardian’s list of The 12 Best Nonalcoholic Beers in the US, with RationAle highlighted for Best Nonalcoholic Can Design. Huge thanks to The Guardian and to the passionate community of beer lovers and designers who continue to support and inspire this category. Grateful for the opportunity to share our craft and story alongside so many outstanding brews. Here’s to design that invites exploration — and to the joy of enjoying great beer, no matter the occasion. 🍻

  • Dry January isn’t a trend, rather a preview of where drinking culture is headed. The win here isn’t “no alcohol,” it’s better choices on purpose. At Rationale, that’s been the brief from day one; beers that let people stay sharp, stay social, and still feel like they ordered something that deserves to be on the menu. When alcohol-free and lower-alc options are treated as standard, not a side note, everyone wins: 🍺 More occasions. 🍺 Better experiences. 🍺 A drinking culture built around what’s in the glass, not just the ABV. That’s the future we’re brewing toward, one intentional pour at a time.

𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥. 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞. That is why 𝐃𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 matters. Not as a month of abstinence, but as a signal for how hospitality is evolving. In January, openness to this topic is especially high. That makes the month a strong platform to start a broader conversation. But the point is not abstinence in January. The point is awareness. Awareness that great alcohol free drinks exist. Awareness that choice should always be available. And awareness that deciding not to drink alcohol does not mean giving up good drinks or social moments. This is not an either or discussion. The NOT SO DRY JANUARY event of the Boilerman Bar 25hours Hotels Altes Hafenamt Hamburg was full of guests, with high attention throughout the evening. The special cocktail menu offered alcohol-free with UNDONE. Alcoholic drinks side by side. That is what modern hospitality looks like. With bartenders perfect serves. On NDR, German public television, I spoke about why alcohol free drinks are becoming a real opportunity for bars and restaurants. Thank you to the NDR for picking up this topic and giving it the space it deserves. Alcohol-free drinks create new occasions. They shift consumption earlier in the day. They help redefine the bar as a social place built around good drinks, not alcohol content. This is where day drinking comes in. Meeting earlier, staying present and focusing on quality in the glass. Together with partners like 25hours Hotel and Thomas Henry GmbH, this approach is already happening in practice. Alcohol-free drinks as a natural part of the menu, not a compromise. For me, Dry January is not limited to January. It is a year round mindset. A big thank you to Sophie Schonebeck, the entire 25hours team and the Thomas Henry team and Sebastian Schneider for turning this idea into reality. 👉 Watch the feature on German TV: https://lnkd.in/dFT-6WuF Mai-Thy Ton Yolenta Wulandari Sigrid Bachert Wilhelm Plumpe Mehmet Ünlü

  • Non-alcoholic beer is no longer about what you're giving up—it's about what you're choosing to stay in for. The numbers tell the story: • Only 54% of U.S. adults now drink alcohol—the lowest rate in 90+ years (Gallup, 2025). • 40% of Americans plan to reduce alcohol consumption in 2025 (Ipsos). The global NA beer market is expected to grow from $20B+ in 2025 to over $40B by 2035, driven by moderation trends and mindful drinking going mainstream (IWSR, FMI). For many people, NA beer isn't a replacement—it's a rhythm. Something you drink to pace yourself, stay sharp, and still be present for the morning after. At RationAle Brewing, we're building for that drinker: the ones who want to stay in the room, stay in the conversation, and still feel good about tomorrow. Deciding to pace how you drink isn't about restriction. It's about presence. If you're watching the NA and better-for-you beverage space, We'd love to hear how moderation is showing up in your corner of the industry.
