🔥 A Datacenter Caught Fire Today. Here's What Happened Next. At 9:30 this morning, my phone rang. It was Marijn de Vlieger asking: "Have you heard about the fire?" I hadn't. Within a minute, we shifted into incident mode. We started a Teams based crisis bridge with Pink Elephant and TrueFullstack (TFS) — one goal: understand what was burning and what it meant for our customers. Engineers, incident managers, and boardroom members in the same call to decide on the spot. Do we have active customer-facing services in that datacenter? Yes. One cluster of our S3 archive solution sits in that building. Evacuated… We couldn't even confirm whether the hardware was physically intact. And then... nothing broke.
