"A huge mistake in government is to not talk about our work, to not talk about the victories. [...] I think that's part of why we're here." Listen to the full conversation with Kate Green here: https://lnkd.in/eiHQejef

What keeps a public interest technologist up at night? 🌙 We asked the TPG community to reflect on a turbulent 2025. The answers were raw, challenging, and deeply insightful. From the dismantling of federal tech teams and the rise of "DOGE" to the ethical tension of the AI boom, our community is grappling with what it means to serve the public in an era of disruption. One member shared a story from the county level that really stuck with us: jail staff using magnifying glasses to check fingerprints because the digital system is broken and unfunded. This is why we do the work. Read the full reflections from our community on destruction, capitalism, and the future of civic tech. Last week we shared our 2025 Annual Report (https://lnkd.in/gZA7Ce3r) — and if you haven't had a chance to read it yet, we hope you will. TPG relies on memberships and individual donations to keep this community supported. If you've learned about an event, found an article helpful, met a new colleague, or discovered a new job opportunity through us — please consider giving back in one of these ways: 🧑🤝🧑 Become a member — your membership directly funds the programs, sponsored memberships, and events that this community depends on. https://lnkd.in/emAN3bHJ 🎁 Make a tax-deductible gift to the Technologists for the Public Good Fund — 100% of our Board and staff have made financial contributions to the future of TPG, and we hope you'll consider doing the same. https://lnkd.in/gd5bXSAd 🔗 Share our work with someone you think might care about public interest tech and the people behind it.

2025 was one of the hardest years our field has seen. It was also one of the most meaningful in our community. We at Technologists for the Public Good stepped up to support our community. The numbers tell part of the story: 🌍 10,000 public interest technologists served 📍 40 states represented in our growing community 🤝 575 members supporting our mission 💬 585 posts and 1k+ comments on our community platform 📅 65 events hosted or co-hosted by TPG, and 200+ events shared with our community 🎗️ 200 sponsored memberships offered to civic technologists in need But what gives us hope is something harder to measure — the resilience of public interest technologists who refuse to stop doing this work. 📚Read more in our 2025 Annual Report: https://lnkd.in/gZA7Ce3r
