Military and veteran families have spoken — and Blue Star Families has released findings from the Military Family Lifestyle Survey. As a proud BSF Outpost, we’re honored to help share what families are saying. Quality of Life and the Future of Service builds on nearly two decades of data to show that financial strain remains the most persistent challenge facing military families, shaping stability, readiness, and confidence in the future of service. These insights help inform policymakers, partners, and communities working to better support those who serve — and the families who serve alongside them. Who knew an afternoon of cards could turn into $30,000 raised to help support military families? 🎖️ Newpark proudly sponsored this year’s 3rd Annual Permian Basin Oil & Gas Poker Classic, a charity event intended to raise funds for the families of Project Sanctuary, a nonprofit organization that has made it its mission to offer counseling and other forms of support to active-duty military and veteran families struggling with their mental health. The Permian oil and gas community showed up and showed out to help provide our military with the resources they need and deserve. Over $30,000 was raised by event sponsors and participants and will help make a difference in the lives of so many. To everyone who sponsored, attended, and donated: thank you. We are so appreciative of your generosity. To our active-duty military and veterans: we thank you for your service and sacrifice. It does not go unnoticed. ❤️ 🤍💙 #NewparkDrillingFluids #CharityEvent #SupportOurTroops #PokerTournament #PermianBasin

He’s home… but he’s not really home. Dinner is on the table. The kids are talking. His wife is watching him carefully. He’s scanning the room. Quiet. Distant. On edge. No one deployed this year. No one is technically in danger. But the trauma didn’t stay at work. This is the part no one funds. While most organizations focus on the service member or the first responder, Heather Ehle Ray at Project Sanctuary sees the whole system. Because when one person serves… the entire family absorbs it. What stood out to me wasn’t just their 6-day therapeutic retreats. It was the 2-year follow-up support. That tells me something important. They understand this pattern: • Trauma is systemic, not individual • Healing must involve the family, not just the uniform • Short-term intervention without long-term structure breaks down Most operators I speak with think in terms of programs. The stronger ones think in terms of systems. Heather’s phrase was simple… “generational healing.” That is systems thinking. When leadership zooms out far enough, the work shifts from reaction to restoration. If you’re building something meaningful, the question isn’t just who you serve... It’s who is quietly impacted around them. 🎧 Full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gEd9BZ8G If this conversation resonates, message me and I’ll connect you directly. *Who in your world is being affected indirectly by the pressure you carry? #AchievePodcast #GenerationalHealing

Project Sanctuary is excited to join Humana Foundation and fellow partners in Louisville this week as we stand united in the fight against veteran suicide. Together, we are committed to strengthening support for our nation’s veterans and collaborating on meaningful, evidence-informed solutions that create lasting impact. We are honored to be part of this coalition and to fight side by side for those who have served.
The Humana Foundation is expanding its commitment to ending the veteran suicide crisis with a new $5 million investment in Face The Fight®. This investment will help scale evidence‑informed solutions and strengthen support for veterans who have the greatest risk of suicide. We are also honored to welcome more than 250 partners to Louisville this week for the second annual Face the Fight® Coalition Meeting. Together, we’ll explore new insights on high‑risk veterans, push bold ideas in suicide prevention, and build real, actionable impact from the coalition's strategic priorities.

At Project Sanctuary, we are closely monitoring recent developments regarding a new Interim Final Rule issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that could potentially reduce disability compensation ratings for veterans whose conditions are managed with medication. National partners, including Disabled American Veterans (DAV), have expressed serious concern. The rule may allow disability ratings to be evaluated based on how a veteran functions while on medication, rather than on the underlying condition itself. For many veterans and families, disability compensation is not just a benefit — it is stability. It supports housing, healthcare, children’s needs, and long-term family planning. At this time, details remain unclear regarding implementation and impact. We encourage veterans to: • Stay informed through trusted veteran service organizations • Maintain documentation of medical conditions and treatments • DO NOT STOP or reduce your medications, please Project Sanctuary remains committed to supporting the whole family — through therapeutic retreats, resource navigation, and ongoing care. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available. You are not alone. Families First, Mission Focused. Veterans, families, and advocates have until April 20, 2026, to send in their feedback. How to Submit a Comment: Visit Regulations.gov Search for RIN 2900-AS49 Click “Comment” Share your experience or concerns Submit before April 20, 2026 After the deadline, the VA will review the comments and decide if the rule needs changes. https://lnkd.in/gzNEngd5
