  • For school mental health professionals, Mental Health Awareness Month isn’t just a moment on the calendar — it’s the work happening every single day. It’s the counselor helping a student feel safe enough to engage in class. The psychologist building resilience through trauma-informed support. The educator creating spaces where students feel connected, understood, and empowered. That’s why Presence is proud to partner with leaders like Isaiah Pickens, PhD, (from iOpening Enterprises) whose work continues to help schools turn compassion into practical action. From Trauma-Informed and Culturally Responsive Practices in Schools: Building a Climate of Compassion to the Finding Your Power curriculum available in the Presence library, Dr. Pickens provides school-based mental health professionals with practical, strengths-based strategies that support emotional wellness, resilience, and student success. We are carrying the spirit of Mental Health Awareness month into every month of the year, celebrating the providers, educators, and thought leaders building healthier, more compassionate school communities.

  • Thank you to Jonaki Mehta and NPR for bringing visibility to this important issue facing schools and special education teams across the country. Presence exists to help address the growing shortage of special education staff and the rising demand for student services. Technology plays a critical role in bridging that gap. AI can be used to reduce administrative burden, save educators valuable time, and enable more meaningful engagement with students. As we continue to explore the potential of AI, we believe human oversight must remain at the center. AI should support special education educators and clinicians, not replace them. We’re proud to support more than 11,000 schools nationwide as they work to support their staff and expand access to the critical services students need to thrive.

"According to a recent survey by the nonpartisan Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), 57% of special education teachers polled nationwide said they used AI to help develop individualized plans for their students in the 2024-25 school year." Read more to find out how special education teachers are using AI and why: https://lnkd.in/eXKYJ_7T Thank you to Danielle and the TED Policy Committee for their work on this topic.

"For years, schools nationwide have struggled with hiring and retaining special educators. In the 2024-25 school year, 45 states reported special education teacher shortages, and staff turnover is worse in schools that largely serve low-income students..."
  • One of the best parts of remote work is getting the chance to connect with people you normally only see through a screen. 💙 This week our company leaders campe together for a co-working week. It was such a fun reminder that even though we work remotely, the relationships we build are very real. There’s just something different about getting together in person, catching up, laughing, and spending time outside of meetings and digital messages. The work we do starts with connection, and that doesn’t just apply to the students and schools we support. It matters for our team, too. Really grateful for moments like these and for the people behind the screens every day. ✨

  • We’re excited to welcome Education Modified to Presence as we continue building the future of connected special education support for schools. School teams are being asked to do more than ever, often while juggling disconnected systems, manual processes, and limited visibility into student support. Together, Presence and Education Modified share a vision for making that work simpler, more connected, and more impactful for educators and students alike. By bringing together teletherapy and remote evaluations, service delivery, accommodations tracking, interventions, and student progress insights, we aim to help school teams spend less time navigating systems and more time supporting students. For our current partners, this represents an exciting expansion of what’s possible with Presence. For schools just getting to know us, it’s a glimpse into a more unified approach to special education support that’s designed around the real needs of educators. We can’t wait to share more about what’s ahead. Learn more about the Education Modified platform: https://lnkd.in/gNv9NGNT

  • We are grateful that here at Presence, none of these horror movies come to life 😉 Here is to the teachers who show up not just for their students but for each other. The ones who take a moment to check in. Who share ideas, encouragement, and small wins in between everything else on their plates. Who make time, even when there isn’t any, to support the people around them. That kind of collaboration is powerful. It turns hard days into manageable ones. It creates space for better outcomes, stronger relationships, and students who feel truly supported. Today, we’re celebrating you not just for the work you do, but for the way you show up for your teams, your students, and your communities every single day. Happy National Teacher Day 💛

  • This AAPI Heritage Month, we’re recognizing the diverse voices, cultures, and contributions that continue to shape the communities we serve. Across schools and care settings, AAPI clinicians, educators, and leaders bring perspective, compassion, and cultural understanding that make a meaningful difference for students every day. Representation matters, especially in spaces where connection and trust are at the center of care. We’re proud to support a network of providers who reflect the students they serve and help create more inclusive, accessible pathways to care. How are you celebrating or honoring AAPI Heritage Month this year? #aapiheritagemonth #aapi

  • Speech-language pathology has undergone a fundamental shift—not just in methods, but in how we define communication, disability, and identity. What began with a focus on speech correction evolved into a comprehensive definition of speech and language pathology and how communication is foundational to our identity and culture. Today, the field continues to move toward neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive, and participation-based care. We've evolved from speech correction to human connection, and now, we’re entering the next phase. Presence takes this critical framework and expertise and seeks to amplify it with technology because the future of speech-language pathology is about expanding access without losing expertise and individualization. Through teletherapy, AI-supported tools, and digital care models, clinicians can deliver more accessible, individualized, and timely speech and language services—especially in schools and underserved communities. Because technology doesn’t replace clinicians. It amplifies their reach and impact, and we are here for it. #nationalspeechlanguagehearingmonth #slp
