  • We’re thrilled to share that OpenTable has been named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in Restaurants, Dining, and Food Services in 2026! The list recognizes organizations that are setting the pace for their industries – which takes on special meaning for us as the original restaurant tech platform. By leading an expansive integration of AI – from LLMs like ChatGPT, Perplexity and our own Concierge, to voice-activated bookings – we’re revolutionizing how a new generation of diners discovers their perfect meal while delivering meaningful increases in reservations for our restaurant partners. A huge thank you to our restaurant partners and diners who inspire us every day – and to the incredible OpenTable team working tirelessly in service of them. Read more via: https://lnkd.in/ehN_gug7

  • UK diners can now discover and book restaurants even more easily with OpenTable’s integration with Amazon’s Gen AI-powered Alexa+!

UK customers, we hear you loud and clear 🇬🇧. Alexa+ Early Access is rolling out to British customers starting today.     Pumped to see customers get this. Our Cambridge tech team built Alexa+ to be authentically British and tuned in to how people from across the country actually communicate. She knows what a "cuppa" is, understands 40 UK dialects from Geordie to Scouse, and may even drop "you're taking the mickey" into conversation.     Beyond the slang, she gets UK nuances like saying "the 15th of March" instead of "March 15th" or understanding that "entrée" refers to a starter, not a main course. Getting these details right is the difference between feeling understood and feeling like you're talking to a translator.     She's also integrated with trusted UK sources like The Guardian, The Independent, and Press Association, plus OpenTable to make life easier. She can do things like ask questions about the news and book restaurants through natural conversation, and can take action in the real world for you.     Super proud of the teams launching this. Hoping my friends from the comments enjoy the upgraded assistant they've been asking for.     Check out the details here: https://lnkd.in/gvUnTzjb

  • Did you know that women make up a significant portion of the hospitality industry—but hold only about 30% of management roles, and even fewer C-suite positions? (Restaurants Canada) That’s what makes initiatives like WORTH Association’s Yes Shef matter. As a sponsor of the inaugural Ontario event, OpenTable supported an evening pairing established chefs with rising F&B students—creating mentorship that extends far beyond one night. We’re excited to see what grows from here. Learn more ➡️ www.yesshef.com/ Photos by: Christine Reid Photography

Is it possible for a restaurant kitchen to ditch disposable plastic? For most chefs, the shift feels nearly impossible. From squeeze bottles to deli containers to cling wrap, plastic is everywhere. Over the past year, chef Edward Lee has pushed his team at SHIA Restaurant to experiment with what it really takes to reduce disposable plastics in a working kitchen. Along the way, he’s taken a hard look at the pressures chefs face every day—time, energy, and cost—and what it takes to make meaningful change possible. In our latest edition of Notes From the Table, Lee reflects on what he’s learned and why progress in hospitality starts with practical, collective action. Big news: Tablevoice is now integrated with OpenTable. Every restaurant we talk to has the same problem: high-value calls going to voicemail while hosts are on the floor. We started Tablevoice because the phone has been one of the most overlooked sales channels in restaurants. Today, we're partnering with OpenTable to fix that. When a guest calls, Foodie – our AI host – checks OpenTable availability in real time, books the reservation, captures special requests, and even suggests another location in your group if one's full. No voicemail. Fewer missed opportunities. Hosts stay focused on the floor. No missed revenue. No hosts pulled off the floor. OpenTable’s latest dining trends report shows experiential dining is up 46% year over year, and group events are surging. A missed call on a Friday night isn't just a lost table of two – it's a holiday party for 20 or an unsold Experience. Foodie makes sure that demand lands in your book, not your voicemail. Grateful to the restaurant operators who pushed us to build something worth trusting with their guests – and to the OpenTable team for betting on that vision with us. Running on OpenTable and seeing more calls than your hosts can handle? Book a quick demo → tablevoice.com/demo

What’s the secret sauce to staying on top of the culinary world? Renowned chef Dominique Crenn has a strong point of view on that: Maintaining relevance is not about dramatic reinvention or chasing the “next big thing”—it’s about deepening what already exists. When navigating rising costs, labor shortages, and evolving diner behavior, the last thing restaurant operators want to focus on is admin. In a recent feature in the Business Post, Sasha Shaker, our senior director of restaurant sales and services, shares how Irish restaurateurs are turning OpenTable technology into a true margin protector. Reminder: our platform goes beyond bookings to optimize floor management and unlock new revenue streams. It’s great to see his expertise showcased as we continue helping the Irish hospitality industry work smarter. Read the full feature here: https://lnkd.in/eZtEC2eE

Mexico’s dining scene continues to set the bar. We had the honor of taking part in Culinaria Mexicana, the prestigious event behind the Guía México Gastronómico, better known as Los 250 Restaurantes. Each year, the guide spotlights the 250 restaurants shaping Mexico’s diverse culinary landscape. The 2026 celebration was a powerful reminder of the creativity, craft, and ambition driving dining across the country. With a commemorative OpenTable-branded plate, we recognized the extraordinary community’s commitment to delivering standout hospitality and unforgettable experiences. It was also our privilege to present the award for Best Opening of the Year to La Cocina del Bizco by chef Jesús Pedraza—a Spanish concept bringing bold flavor and energy to the heart of Condesa in Mexico City. Congratulations to all of the restaurants featured in this year’s guide. Make sure to check it out before your next trip! #OpenTable #CulinariaMexicana #GuíaMéxicoGastronómico #Hospitality #RestaurantIndustry
