What do you call it when a recruiter flies in from Chicago to host a market making simulation for a room full of finance-obsessed women? A perfect storm of chaos, competition, and camaraderie. Huge thank you to Joe Selby from Old Mission for traveling cross-time-zone (and into the lion’s den) to lead one of the most fast-paced and entertaining trading games we’ve played yet—featuring live quoting, aggressive undercutting, and more psychological warfare than expected for a Wednesday evening. Highlights included: 💙 Live quoting under emotional duress 💙 Accidental market manipulation 💙 At least one person softly whispering “I’m going to lose everything” over a bid sheet Also, Joe brought t-shirts. We accepted them as tribute. I will be buried in mine. Huge thanks to Old Mission for creating spaces where women in quant finance aren’t just welcomed—but challenged, engaged, and actually shown up for. We notice. And we appreciate it.
