Governor Jim Pillen proclaimed May as Fraud Awareness Month in Nebraska. Lt. Governor Joe Kelly joined us last week to read the official proclamation. With fraud incidences rising at an alarming rate, the NBA also launched “That’s A Red Flag,” an educational campaign aimed at helping consumers recognize the “red flags” of fraud and scams.

The gratitude continues with a shout-out to our members who have contributed over $60,000 to the Nebraska Banks Back First Responders fund. Thank you for supporting first responders as they continue to recover from the recent wildfires in our state. Read more: https://buff.ly/LCURJMR

The NBA Foundation has awarded $2,500 scholarships to 10 college students pursing business-related degrees at state or private Nebraska schools. We celebrated this year’s recipients at our annual convention last week.

The Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has helped develop banking leaders since 1945. This year, we’re pleased to award Shane Kalin with Northwest Bank the NBA/Prochnow Educational Foundation Scholarship for the two-year GSB program. Congratulations, Shane!
