National Church Residences was privileged to host Congressman Michael T.W. Carey and AARP Ohio leaders and volunteers at Avondale Village in Dublin for a discussion on caregiving in recognition of Family Caregiving month (May). As our nation’s population continues to age, family caregivers play a vital role in helping older adults remain safe, supported and independent in their homes and communities. We appreciate Congressman Carey's leadership in sponsoring the Credit for Caring Act and join AARP in calling for passage of this legislation that would support working family caregivers by creating a tax credit of up to $5,000.

What does it take to address one of Central Ohio’s biggest challenges? Partnership. Vision. And a shared commitment to creating communities where people can continue to thrive. 🏘️ Today, we’re proud to celebrate the opening of Hebron Station — a new 42-unit affordable senior housing community in Licking County that was fully leased before opening, underscoring the urgent and growing need for attainable housing across our region. Hebron Station represents more than a new development. It’s what can happen when local leaders, housing advocates, financial partners, and community organizations come together to invest in solutions that create lasting impact. Thank you to our incredible partners who helped bring this vision to life, including Affordable Housing Trust for Columbus and Franklin County, Ohio Housing Finance Agency (OHFA), Fifth Third Bank, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Ruscilli Construction, Berardi + Partners, LLC., Raymond James, the Village of Hebron, and the many regional leaders involved in the Central Ohio Regional Housing Coalition.

We had an engaging discussion on how Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and primary care partnerships are transforming outcomes in long-term care and senior living. We appreciate the opportunity to share insights and learn from such a committed group of leaders. Looking forward to continuing the conversation and advancing these partnerships together. #OHCA2026

Strong communities start with a place to call home. We’re proud to see leaders like Senior Project Leader at National Church Residences, Tim Westrich advancing conversations around affordable housing. Recently, he spoke on a panel at the Leadership Ohio’s summit in Cincinnati; helping create stronger neighborhoods, greater opportunity and stability for seniors, workers and families alike.
I was pleased to be a panelist at Leadership Ohio's two-day summit in Cincinnati, discussing Affordable Homes, Strong Communities: A Cincinnati Dialogue. We've been fortunate in Cincinnati to have neighborhood leaders that welcome affordable housing as a strategy to ensure that workers of all kinds have an affordable place to call home as our neighborhoods go through revitalization. I believe affordable housing makes neighborhoods stronger by creating housing opportunities for these workers, as well as having comfortable and safe housing for seniors. Thanks Dan Driehaus and Leadership Ohio for covering this important topic - it was great to see the fellows engage on this subject! Plus I had the chance to present with two fantastic people, Jennifer Walke and Mary Rivers.
