We are loving the Resident Experience series on Optimized! with host Janet Rosseth. This week she has Lisa Moore sharing the GoldOller Real Estate Investments approach. Resident experience is not just the responsibility of the onsite team or customer support; it's a collective effort beginning the moment a prospect clicks "learn more." Lisa emphasizes that every department, from marketing to leasing, support, and facilities, plays a crucial role in ensuring residents feel valued long before they move in and long after. A few standout themes from the episode: 🔹 Experience starts early 🔹 Tech should empower, not overwhelm 🔹 Self-service meets human connection 🔹 Retention is a day-one strategy 🔹 Employee experience drives everything This approach is more than just providing good service; it's a strategic move for long-term, sustainable growth. David Stifter, Founder of PredictAP, Inc. joined Eric Sharpe and Justin Dilley at RETCON to discuss some of the major challenges in multifamily. One theme that stood out was hidden complexities in parts of the business that often get overlooked. Accounts payable is a perfect example. It’s not glamorous, but when it breaks, everything downstream feels it. David shared his expertise on the subject based on his own experience and why he built PredictAP: Invoices in multifamily aren’t simple: They require deep context around entities, leases, and allocations. Too often, that knowledge lives with a few key people, which becomes a challenge with turnover. • AI works best with context: The real value isn’t reading invoices; it’s interpreting them correctly. The best tools learn from human expertise and build on it. • Adoption > Innovation: Even great tech fails if it’s hard to implement. The future of proptech is seamless, low-friction integration into existing workflows. Proptech isn’t just about better tools; it’s about solving operational friction and scaling knowledge across teams. It's not all entertainment though. This episode shares an insightful takeaway: Sometimes, the most unconventional ideas can lead to genuine innovation. Shelley L. Robinson, MBA sat down with Rebecca Fanning, VP of User Experience and Design with Engrain, to unpack how spatial intelligence, design thinking, and data are transforming property operations and decision-making. Data Collection is something we're all talking about and as Rebecca shares, the real work isn’t the dashboard everyone sees…it’s what’s happening beneath the surface. It’s the foundation you build that ultimately determines whether your data actually creates clarity and drives better decisions, or is just more noise being added. Check out the full episode for insights on: ➡️ Why Maps Are Changing the Game ➡️ The Evolution of Interactive Maps to Pathfinding & Spatial Intelligence ➡️ Using Human-Centered Design as a Competitive Edge The future of multifamily isn’t just digital; it’s spatial, intuitive, and human-centered. The companies that win will be the ones that turn complex data into clear, actionable insight. Stay tuned until the end of the episode for upcoming announcements and events with Engrain!
