  • We’re back with the third installment of our ‘Take My Word For It’ series! Each month, we’re highlighting the incredible leaders who lead the MHYP community. Emma Bennett, Head of Sponsorship, shares what she’s learned from her 4 years (and counting!) with MHYP. What is something you’ve learned at MHYP? My public speaking skills have improved significantly since joining MHYP. I have had the opportunity to speak at networking events, run workshops, and attend public speaking workshops to further sharpen this skill. This has been very helpful in life and in my day job where I often present and need to be trusted as an expert. What has been your favorite event so far? Ski days! They are fun way to hang with MHYP friends that share one of my favorite hobbies and I meet new cool people every year! What skills have you gained thus far? Through my leadership positions over the years I have learned how to mentor others with professionalism and kindness. I have had the opportunity to lead committees and help volunteers grow into tomorrow’s leaders. It has been a joy and a pleasure to watch others around me grow into their own and champion their strengths. Why should someone join MHYP? This is a great place for anyone regardless of profession, especially those who don’t “need” to network. When I joined I was looking to make some friends and volunteer a little. Now 4 years later, MHYP has been instrumental in making me the person I am today. I have made lifelong friends, met business partners, found a way to give back to my local community, grown my soft skills, and met so many cool people. You never know who you are going to meet and that is one of the best things about MHYP! ✨ As Emma mentioned, MHYP is full of opportunities to meet new people, whether your goal is to network, volunteer, or simply spark new conversations with other Denverites. Consider this your sign to come check out an MHYP event! Next, join the IKON Ski Day @ Winter Park Ski Resort. 📍 Winter Park Ski Resort 📅 Saturday, February 28th Find the details on our web site and check out the other events we have coming up in the spring! https://milehighyp.com/ #youngprofessionals #denverevents #denvercommunity #networking #denvercolorado #milehighcity

  • ‘Take My Word For It’ spotlight, continues: Meet Lauren (Lo) Rhines, Our New President! We are so excited to announce our new PREZ, Lo Rhines! Lo brings a people-first approach to leadership and a genuine love for community, connection, and making MHYP a place where members can grow, connect, and have fun along the way. We caught up with Lo to talk lessons learned, favorite MHYP moments, and what’s ahead for the year. Here’s what she had to say: What is something you’ve learned at MHYP? I’ve learned just how powerful community really is. Over time, I’ve seen that most people just want to feel supported, included, and a sense of belonging. MHYP does that in a really genuine way. What has been your favorite event so far? I thoroughly enjoy our Volo leagues - cup-in-hand kickball to be specific, which I think everyone should try at least once! My favorite event, though, was supporting Colorado Special Olympics at their park day celebration, which included a water balloon fight with the athletes. Good, clean, wholesome fun! What skills have you gained thus far? I’ve learned how to balance structure and flexibility, and how to tailor my communication style and energy based on what the interaction or person needs. I believe that making sure people feel heard and valued is key, and I want to continue fostering an environment where that happens. Why should someone join MHYP? It really depends on what you’re seeking, but we truly have something for everyone! MHYP is an easy way to find community and meet people who are motivated, welcoming, and genuinely want to connect. MHYP strikes a great balance between working hard and having fun. People come for the connections and stay for the friendships. What are you most looking forward to about being PREZ?! I’m excited to continue serving this community because I love helping people in any way I can. Whether that’s as a professional connection, a sounding board, or as a friend, I'm here to support. I’m also looking forward to building tools and systems that help us work smarter and deliver more value to our members. Cheers! We’re excited to have Lo stepping into this role and can’t wait to see where she leads MHYP this year 💛  (P.S. You can meet her yourself at our next social): 📅 Tuesday. Feb. 10th  📍 The University Club of Denver ⏲️ 6-8pm Members: Free Non-Members: $15 Free: Marketing, Advertising & Creative Industry #youngprofessionals #denverevents #denvercommunity #networking #denvercolorado #milehighcity
