People like you help Make-A-Wish® Southern Nevada bring lasting, positive change into the lives of kids with critical illnesses. Your support makes it possible for us to grant their wishes, giving them a reason to stay strong through treatments and to believe in the promise of a better future. Though we grant a wish every 34 minutes in the United States, we need to grant a wish every 18 minutes to serve every eligible kid. Every single person who supports us by donating, volunteering or referring a child can be part of our mission. Find out more at snv.wish.org. Make-A-Wish Southern Nevada is always looking for people to join our team. If you have skills that can help us transform the lives of the kids we serve, please visit our Careers page.

We were featured on Make-A-Wish Monday today! Our President & CEO Scott Rosenzweig and Geena Jeffries Mattox, Vice President for Philanthropy & Alumni Relations at Roseman University, shared Gabrie’s inspiring wish and the impact it’s making. Gabrie’s story is a powerful reminder of how partnerships and community support can create life-changing opportunities, like helping others pursue a future in nursing. We’ll be live on Make-A-Wish Monday over the next few weeks, continuing to highlight the incredible work with our partners that helped make this wish come true. 3,000 wishes and one unforgettable little hero 💙✨ Yesterday, 7-year-old Emma, diagnosed with leukemia in 2022, became the 3,000th wish granted by Make-A-Wish Nevada and what a powerful milestone it was. From the moment she arrived in her custom uniform, Emma stepped into her dream of becoming a police officer with courage, joy, and determination beyond her years. With the incredible support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department LVMPD Emma soared in a helicopter, joined SWAT and K9 teams, and even tracked down the “Sprinkles Bandit,” taking swift action and making her very first arrest. One of the most special moments of the day came when Sheriff Kevin McMahill surprised Emma, read her an official proclamation, and made sure the day was filled with both meaning and fun. He even encouraged her to practice her first arrest with her dad, creating a moment her family will never forget. Emma’s family shared how happy they were to see her fully embrace her Wish Day, and by the end, she did not want to take off her uniform. Her wish also brings us back to where it all began, with Chris Greicius, also 7 and diagnosed with leukemia, whose dream of becoming a police officer inspired the very first wish ever granted. To LVMPD, thank you for the care, detail, and heart you poured into making Emma’s wish come true in the most extraordinary way. And to Emma, you showed us all what true bravery looks like. Stay tuned for more from this incredible day 💙
March is Social Worker Appreciation Month, and we are proud to recognize two incredible advocates making a difference for families in our community, Claudia Clendenin and Emi Spotleson, social workers at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation💙 Through their compassion and dedication, they help ensure children facing critical illnesses receive the care, support, and hope they deserve. Claudia also serves as a valued member of the Make-A-Wish Nevada Medical Advisory Committee (MAC). From 2023 until today, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation has referred more than 270 children to Make-A-Wish Nevada, helping open the door to wishes that bring joy, strength, and lasting memories. We truly could not do this work without partners like Claudia and Emi. Their impact is deeply felt by the families we serve and throughout our community. Thank you for all that you do. ✨
