"Finally, I think the renderer has earned the word ‘unlimited’. Maybe." In our latest article, Director of Technology Sam Birley shares the journey of pushing our OKO Unreal Engine plugin past the 16-million-instance limit and what it took to scale to 200M+ splat environments. In the post, Sam covers: ✅ Bypassing GPU Scene ceilings in Unreal Engine. ✅ Setting up PlayCanvas Streamed SOG LODs for dynamic streaming. ✅ Keeping GPU memory budgets under control for production-ready scenes. If you want to render massive Gaussian splat captures in Unreal Engine while keeping performance rock-solid, read the full breakdown here: https://lnkd.in/gi6GnBPd

Next week, our co-founder Alex Henning will be joining Charlotte Mikkelborg, Edward Dawson-Taylor, and Kai Fischer on the Expert Stage for the opening double session at MediaTech Hub Conference at Studio Babelsberg. They’ll be diving into 'Creativity & Tech 2026', talking honestly about how new tech is reshaping how stories get made, which tools are actually shifting the craft (versus just shifting the budget), and what it all means for creators working in the industry today. 💬 Creativity & Tech 2026 📍 September 29 | 11:15 am | Studio Babelsberg AG | Expert Stage If you're heading to #MTHCON26, drop by the panel or say hello if you spot Alex around!

So proud of what everyone built here! 💥
What a night! ✨ It was such a privilege to attend the Creative Arts Emmys this weekend and celebrate World of Fallout being recognized with a nomination for Outstanding Emerging Media Program. We didn’t take home the gold this time, but being recognized by the Television Academy alongside such an incredible group of nominees was a pretty special moment. I’m incredibly proud of what we created with the teams at Amazon Studios, Kilter Films and Magnopus. World of Fallout was an ambitious project that brought together a lot of talented people, new technology, and a whole lot of problem solving. Seeing it recognized in this category was a wonderful acknowledgement of everyone who put so much into making it happen. Congratulations to the Uncanny Alley team on the win, and to all of this year’s nominees. It was an honor to be among you. 🏆 And a huge thank you to everyone who helped bring World of Fallout to life. So proud of this team and this project. ❤️ #WorldOfFallout #EmergingMedia #Emmys #Magnopus

Meet Natalie White, HR Director at Magnopus UK. She keeps our team supported with empathy, fairness, and a lot of laughs. Navigating people operations takes a unique balance of skills, and for Natalie, it comes down to three essentials: emotional intelligence, a rock-solid understanding of employment law, and a good sense of humor. When she's not shaping the employee experience, Natalie spends her time reading books of all genres, listening to great music, and following her major passion – Formula 1. Check out the full Q&A to learn more about Natalie, including why her pet tortoise is named after an F1 driver and how she took a legal course on Harry Potter! 🐢✨ https://lnkd.in/eEdZmJRu

Building a great game concept is fun. Setting up the same mechanics over and over during prototyping? Not so much. To solve that, our design team created a modular, drag-and-drop Unreal Engine repository packed with standard gameplay logic, UI components, and character behaviours. To see if the toolkit would actually work in practice, we put it to the test. Two internal teams designed completely different game proposals (a stealth-action game and a pop-star simulator), documented their systems, and then swapped documentation halfway through. Each team had three weeks to build a functional MVP using the other team’s work. The result? Around a 30% boost in development velocity plus a ton of key takeaways around documentation handoffs, performance scaling, and freeing up time for game polish. Lead Designer Milo Bygrave breaks down the journey here: https://lnkd.in/d4j-2Se4

LA friends! Check out these open roles.
Edited to add: We're covered on Cinematic Visualization artists - still crewing for others as listed below. Thanks for the tags and pms, trying to get back to you all! We’re ramping up FAST here at Magnopus for a couple of exciting projects, and we’re looking for some seriously talented folks to join us. If you’re an Unreal or AI wizard (or some combination of the two), take a look at the openings here: https://lnkd.in/gNBrXY4V Our immediate needs: UE Tech Artist (way under the hood with UE) UE Cinematic Visualization — camera layout / previs UE Generalists — lighting / lookdev / environments AI Artists — storytelling / prompting AI Tech Artists — building tools to support storytelling A couple of important notes: these roles require US work authorization without sponsorship and an onsite presence in LA, so we’re specifically looking for LA locals. If this sounds like you—or someone you know—drop a comment, send me a DM, or pass this along. We’d love to meet you! Come make some cool stuff with us. 😎 Photo by Daniel Cheung on Unsplash

So proud to see this Emmy-nominated. Good luck team - fingers crossed!🤞
The final phase of Emmy voting is now open until Wednesday, August 26 and The World of Fallout is on the ballot in the Emerging Media category. We broke the fourth wall, pulled back the curtain, and invited fans into the wasteland itself not as viewers but as explorers. We took high-fidelity Unreal assets, optimized them and recreated 3D environments into a fully explorable wasteland with no Pip-Boy required. If you've ever wanted to snoop the Vault, poke around the Caswennan airship, or Mr. House's penthouse this was that experience. Dylan Hoop Jocelyn Birsch Eugenia Chung Melanie Zarzur Magnopus Nick Frontiera Heather Breedlove (McClure) Eóin Waxel Tom Barlow Ivone Alexandre War never changes, but your vote just might. ☢️ https://lnkd.in/gBVczqUp https://lnkd.in/gNcHjbka #Emmys #EmergingMedia #Fallout #TheWorldOfFallout #PrimeVideo

What if you could see music? For the Daft Punk Experience in Fortnite, we didn't just use music to inspire the visuals. We used math to visualise the music. For one scene in Contact, the chord progression was transcribed, the notes converted into frequencies and encoded into the visuals, so as you flew through space, you were literally seeing the music in front of you. In this Unreal Fest Chicago talk, our Audiovisual Designer & Creative Director Addison Herr breaks down how he used the connection between music and math to shape the experience. 🎵➗ Watch it here: https://lnkd.in/eQYf2df7 #Niagara #Sequencer #UnrealEngine
