  • Last week, Vivian Gahtan, MD, chair of the Department of Surgery, hosted an engaging faculty retreat that brought together teams from across Loyola Medicine. The event focused on career development, mentorship and collaboration, while strengthening connections across multiple surgical and clinical specialties. Katie Delaney, MHA, CPRP is the Administrative Director of Provider Services at Loyola Medicine. In this role, she oversees physician recruitment, contracting, and onboarding across the Illinois region. Read on to see how Loyola Parkinson prepared Katie for her career. Q. What is the focus of your role at Loyola Medicine? A. My role focuses on building strong provider partnerships, supporting organizational growth, and ensuring a seamless experience for physicians joining our health system. Q. Why did you choose the Parkinson School at Loyola? A. Choosing the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health felt like a natural step in my professional journey. I had reached a point in my career where I knew I wanted to invest in my future through an advanced degree. A close friend of mine was enrolled in the program, and I saw firsthand how much she grew through her experience. After meeting Kimberly Rusk, I knew Loyola was the right fit. The program offered the supportive, collaborative environment I was looking for, one where I could grow both personally and professionally. Q. How did Loyola Parkinson prepare you for your current role? My experience at Loyola Parkinson transformed the way I approach leadership and decision-making. The program strengthened my ability to think strategically through a systems-based and evidence-driven lens, skills I use every day in my current role. As my team expands its recruitment services and partnerships, I’ve been able to apply what I learned at Loyola by researching industry trends, collaborating with stakeholders, and leading change in a thoughtful, team-focused way. The education and experiences I gained through the program continue to shape how I lead, innovate, and serve others. Learn how to boost your career with Loyola Parkinson's MHA program in the comments.
