  • Stop by the Commons. The Living Future Commons is our central gathering space in Seattle, April 14-17. Part hub, part lounge, part connective tissue of the entire conference. It’s where you can: - Find out about regional and topical meetups for attendees - Get matched with the people, projects, or ideas you’re looking for - Join informal conversations that go deeper than any session - Meet Living Future staff and explore programs, certifications, and membership - While supplies last, pick up your Professional Member gift (including an advance copy of "Climate Wayfinding") Think of it as your home base for insight, introductions, and a little serendipity, because the right conversation can be a catalyst for your future.

  • One of the strongest throughlines in the upcoming program at Living Future 2026 is what it takes to decarbonize the built environment at scale. Sessions include field reports from practitioners who are figuring it out in real buildings, right now. "Unlocking Climate Action in the 61% Building Stock Majority" A practical tool for early carbon decision-making that balances embodied vs. operational impacts across a building's full lifecycle. "Adventures in Carbon-Smart Retrofits" Insights drawn from 2M+ energy models to build a data-driven roadmap for existing buildings. Efficiency, carbon reduction, and long-term resilience aligned. "A Tech Lab's Journey to Zero Carbon" Whole-life carbon strategy for one of the hardest building types to decarbonize. What it actually took. "SCRTS: A Carbon-Neutral Industrial Facility" A case study in integrated systems thinking to deliver carbon-neutral infrastructure. "A New, Low-Carbon Model for Inclusive Living" All-electric, low-carbon housing that advances climate goals and social equity. Proof that these don't have to be competing priorities. The window is closing, join us April 14-17 in Seattle. Register today. https://lnkd.in/eBfGXAi

  • At Living Future 2026, stories of success and failure remind us why our work matters and why the choices we make in design, policy, and planning ripple across communities and generations. We are honored to welcome Julian Brave NoiseCat to the mainstage on Tuesday, April 14. Julian’s work lives at the intersection of culture and governance. As both an artist and policy advocate, he moves between story and structure; between what we feel and what we formalize. His writing, filmmaking, and advocacy demonstrate how narratives can shape understanding, inform action, and create meaningful change in communities and society at large. NoiseCat is the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind "Sugarcane", which premiered at Sundance, and the author of "We Survived the Night", a deeply personal exploration of Indigenous identity, history, and survival. He will also be signing copies of his book onsite following the session. The future we build is not abstract. It is legislated, designed, funded, and fought for. https://lnkd.in/eBfGXAi

Spring is arriving in the Pacific Northwest. In places like Peshastin, Washington, a small community tucked into the valley of the Wenatchee River, the season arrives slowly. Snow retreats from the surrounding peaks, orchards begin to wake up, and the landscape reminds us how deeply life here depends on water, terrain, and time. More than a century ago, settlers dug the Peshastin Ditch to bring irrigation water to orchards along the hillsides above nearby Cashmere, Washington. The system helped shape the region’s agricultural landscape and the communities that grew alongside it. The Pacific Northwest has always been defined by its relationship to the land. It’s also why so many of the ideas behind regenerative design took root here first. This April, the community gathers again in Seattle for Living Future 2026—bringing together designers, manufacturers, and changemakers working to create buildings and communities that function more like the ecosystems around them. There’s something fitting about returning to this region in the spring. We hope to see you at Living Future 2026. Jason McLennan asked the hard question at last year’s Living Future: Are our efforts enough to actually turn the tide on climate crises? At LF26, he’s bringing that challenge front and center with a session that confronts reality and shares ideas that can drive real systemic change. Explore solutions. Debate ideas. Walk away with concrete steps. And discover how Jason’s new book, "The Magic of Imperfection", can help turn intention into measurable impact. The planet isn’t waiting. Will we? https://lnkd.in/eBfGXAi #LF26 #LivingFuture #GreenBuilding #ClimateAction
