Ahmed Osman has successfully completed radiation and thermal testing of our miniaturized Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) - the world's smallest radiation resistant EDFA for CubeSat lasercom — and is now heading to Kyoto to present our results at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Space Optical Systems and Applications (ICSOS 2025). Our paper, 📄 “Gamma radiation testing of reduced-clad Erbium-doped fibers and demonstration of an ultra-compact EDFA for satellite laser communications”, will be presented on Wednesday, 29 October. This work is a collaboration with NCSR "DEMOKRITOS" and is supported by the European Space Agency - ESA under Contract 4000140681. We also gratefully acknowledge funding from the European Union – NextGenerationEU and the Greek Ministry of Digital Policy, Telecommunications & Media. #ICSOS2025 #SpaceOptics #LaserCommunications #EDFA #Photonics #ESA #Research #OpticalCommunications #Satellite
