Is any accomplishment too small to celebrate?? Mika Brzezinski doesn’t think so! “There’s always a reason to celebrate.” Part of knowing your value is being able to say what makes you great — OUT LOUD. Because, as Mika says, no one can speak for you better than you can. So tell us: what’s something awesome about you? 👇

Women are on track to control $113 trillion, nearly 45% of global wealth. But a new HSBC study with Ipsos and Know Your Value finds many women still feel unsupported by financial institutions. Experts say closing the “fluency gap” is the next step. https://lnkd.in/efCNJNAS

Conflict in the Middle East is escalating, and the human cost of war is being felt across the region — especially by women and children. This morning on Morning Joe, Mika Brzezinski shared that the Forbes and Know Your Value 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi had been postponed due to security considerations. “We are also mindful of the human cost of war, especially for women and children on and around this year’s International Women’s Day,” Brzezinski said. She added that the summit will return later this year, emphasizing that the mission remains the same: creating a space where women from around the world can gather, connect, and support one another. This week we were planning to celebrate International Women’s Day with our Forbes x Know Your Value 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi. Each year on this day celebrating women, we gather for our international summit with women from around the world to discuss leadership, mentorship, and building the future together. While the events of the past week have brought grave challenges to the region and world, we all still celebrate the remarkable progress women have made across the world, and we remember their contributions and commitments today. Women are navigating uncertainty, conflict, and chaos everywhere. In Ukraine, more than 70,000 women now serve in the military, many of them on the front lines taking roles that were once closed to them. In Iran, women continue to face oppression while enduring the extraordinarily dangerous fighting in their country. These women are caught between a regional war and a government crackdown that was especially harsh after mass protests earlier this year. Demonstrations demanding change were met with harsh violence from Iranian authorities, while internet blackouts further isolated their country. And now, war. And still, Iranian women continue to speak out for their freedom and for their basic rights. Here in the United States, women continue to raise their voices in workplaces and communities, fighting back against those who would are trying to set women’s rights back a generation. And even through the myriad of crises they face, women lead. They hold families together, run communities, and excel on the global stage — from boardrooms to Olympic podiums. That is why International Women’s Day matters. It’s more than a celebration. It’s a reminder that progress happens because women remain determined to make a difference while refusing to keep quiet. Thank you to the trailblazers who helped us get this far. We stand on your shoulders. #IWD #internationalwomensday #trailblazers #heros

“If you care about women’s rights, you should care about Iran.” Mandana Dayani reflects on her conversation with Princess Noor Pahlavi and the women leading a historic challenge to the Islamic Republic. “Iranian women aren’t just fighting for their own freedom — they’re fighting for the soul of the country.”

As the Winter Games close, a major question remains: Why is Nordic combined still the only Olympic sport that does not include women? Know Your Value’s Britt Miller spoke with Annika Malacinski, one of the top Nordic combined skiers in the world, who has trained for years in a sport she still can’t compete in on the Olympic stage. The IOC says it will assess data from these Games before deciding the event’s future. For athletes like Annika, that decision could change everything. “I do really hope that people raise their voices for us and spread the word… because that, at the end of the day, is going to put the pressure that we need on the IOC to finally add the women — I just hope that more and more people will start to care.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eKWbwN_t
