Councilman Bankston’s message resonated deeply, reminding our students that leadership is built through commitment, integrity, and service to others. About us
KIPP, the Knowledge Is Power Program, is a national network of free, open enrollment college preparatory public schools. There are 255 KIPP schools in 20 states and the District of Columbia, educating more than 110,000 students with more than 15,000 KIPP alumni currently attending college. Nationally, KIPP alumni are graduating from college at 3x the rate of their peers. KIPP Columbus, the only set of KIPP schools in Ohio, was founded in 2008 with 50 students in the 5th grade and now educates more than 2,000 students infant - 12th grade. KIPP Columbus continues to rank as one of the top five schools for academic growth of any school in the state of Ohio, and is a top performing urban school in the state for academic growth. In our first and second classes of graduating high school seniors in the spring of 2020 and 2021, 100% of students were accepted to college and/or military with over $30 million in merit scholarships from colleges and universities earned. Together with families and the community, KIPP creates joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose -- college, career, and beyond.

We were honored to welcome Jason Hall, President & CEO of the Columbus Partnership, as part of our Leadership Breakfast Series. Our KIPPsters were all ears as Jason shared his journey and about his work bringing new opportunities and jobs to Central Ohio. Jason shared, “Sacrifice will build your character and it will pay off.” For our 8th grade attendees — who are persevering through their last year of middle school, and thinking about the journey ahead to college — this sentiment really struck a chord. A huge thank you to Jason for spending his morning with us, and a shout out to our incredible KIPPsters for growing their leadership every day. 💙 ✨
