From Global Warming to Active Shooter responses, and from Pollution on Earth to Life on Exoplanets— EXTREME Science was an awesome topic for the Conversation Starter symposium at Kennedy College of Sciences at UMass Lowell!
🎉 UMass Lowell’s Cyber Security Team the Northeast Collegiate Cyber Defence Competition (NECCDC) for the second year in a row!!!!!!!!! This competition challenges students to defend simulated enterprise networks against active cyber threats, and it draws top programs from across the Northeast. Claiming consecutive titles is a rare achievement and a strong reflection of the quality of talent our institution is cultivating in cybersecurity. Our team will now advance to the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition in mid-April, competing against the 10 best teams in the country. Thank you for your ongoing investment in our students and program.

Our two Fulbright scholars, Prof. Dimitrios Anglos from the University of Crete (UoC) in Greece and Prof. Nirupam Roy from Indian Institute of Science in India, participated in a cultural exchange day trip to Lowell led by Prof. Chad Montrie of the History Department and a board member of the Fulbright Association Chapter. The visit explored Lowell’s role in the American Industrial Revolution, with stops at the Boott Mill Museum and the Concord River Greenway, followed by Vietnamese cuisine. Welcome to Lowell!
