Guided by our mission for more than 80 years, Kaiser Permanente exists to provide high-quality, affordable health care services and to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. Our outcomes show what's possible when every dollar serves our members and communities: • Better health. Our members are 33% less likely to die prematurely due to heart disease compared to nonmembers in their communities.  • Greater affordability. Everywhere we operate, our commercial group premiums are 12-19% lower than market average for similar plans.  • Stronger communities. We spent $5.3 billion last year on community health and financial assistance, including food access and disaster recovery. This is what it means to be Kaiser Permanente. This is who we are. #ValueBasedCare

  • 🏀💗 Kaiser Permanente Northwest physicians recently joined local health care nonprofits for a community health event hosted by the Portland Fire. The event focused on raising awareness about the importance of breast cancer screenings and marked the first in a series of community health partnerships bringing together KP, local nonprofits, and the Fire to support healthier Northwest communities. KP physicians were onsite to share information and answer questions about screenings and broader women’s health topics. The event also featured a basketball camp for kids, hosted by the Fire, giving families a fun, active space for children while parents and caregivers connected with health experts.

  • As warmer weather arrives, many of us return to activities like running, soccer, tennis, and hiking, but jumping back in too quickly after a less active winter can increase the risk of injury.   “I spend a lot of time helping elite athletes prepare for the season ahead,” says Dr. Jackie Brady, Kaiser Permanente Northwest sports medicine physician and team physician for the Portland Thorns FC and Portland Fire. “But the same principles apply to everyone. Whether you're a professional athlete or getting back to weekend soccer, running, or pickleball, gradually building strength and conditioning can help reduce injury risk and keep you active longer.”   Learn more tips for a healthy return to movement this season. : https://lnkd.in/gB4D-xnk

  • ⚽🔥 What a night. What a game. So proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Portland Thorns FC home opener!   We’re thrilled to continue our partnership as the official team physicians for the Thorns. Two of our sports medicine physicians — Dr. Jackie Brady and Dr. Eric Schub — had the honor of bringing out the game ball, and members of our Kaiser Permanente Northwest Cancer Center team helped set the tone by presenting the Thorns banner during center circle ceremony.   An incredible way to kick off the season. Let’s go, Thorns! 🌹⚽

  • Energizing day celebrating women in leadership at the Portland Business Journal’s 2026 Women of Influence Awards. As the presenting sponsor, we’re proud to support dynamic leaders who are building healthier, stronger communities across the Northwest. Kaiser Permanente Northwest Regional President Wendy Watson co‑emceed the celebration and had the honor of presenting Dr. Mary Giswold, chief operating officer of Northwest Permanente with an award recognizing her outstanding leadership and collaboration with our physicians. • During National Patient Safety Awareness Week, we’re proud to highlight the everyday actions that strengthen our culture of safety and protect our Kaiser Permanente Northwest employees and patients. At Westside Medical Center, EVS technician Preston Cruz was recently awarded a Safety Awareness Certificate in recognition of his diligence and commitment to creating a safer environment for everyone. Preston shared: “Having a culture of safety is a big deal. Communication is key. It’s important to know you can speak up to create change. We’re all one team at the end of the day — the whole hospital.” Thank you, Preston — and all our teams — for helping make safety a shared priority.
