  • Today at JobbyCRM we wrap up our series on the Top 5 Hardest #Interview questions: "Why are you leaving your current job". We all know the real reasons... but you can't say those in an interview. They are asking this because (1) they are probably just curious & (2) if you're disgruntled about your current job and the interviewer knows the same conditions exist where they are.... you're not going to get the job. Its also a tough question, which will tell them something about your personality. This is how you answer this: "I have enjoyed working at X Company and have grown professionally since working there. I have also made some good friends along the way. But I have maximized my potential there. There are, unfortunately, very few opportunities to move up and I have certain growth goals I feel the role we are discussing can help me achieve." Simple, concise, positive. All of it true. Don't lie, but if you're truly disgruntled and have strong issues with either people at your current company or the company itself, this isn't the place or time to rant. Finally - the key to a good interview is practice, practice, practice. Study and memorize answers to these tough interview questions. There are lists of them all over the internet. Make the answers sound natural and unrehearsed. Find a friend have them ask you interview questions. Be Organized. Stay Motivated. Get Hired. JobbyCRM.com

  • "Why should we hire you?" is our number 4 hardest #interview question. Its hard to boast when you've been taught to be humble, unassuming, etc. But that's not what this question is asking of you. Its asking if (1) you know yourself, (2) you can communicate your strengths, and (3) how you had a hard, "out of left field" question. Here's an answer: "I don't know about the other candidates, but I bring to the table a history of performance and accomplishment, including: 1.... 2.... 3...." And you reiterate your strongest accomplishments from your resume. Then tell them "And I am looking to continue this track record in a progressive organization which can appreciate someone with my drive and ambitions". Leverage this question to tell them why you're the greatest thing ever and compliment them on being an organization worth YOUR time. Because really they need to answer your question "Why should I work for you?!" Again, prepare and practice for this question. Be ready for it and know your answer. You got this! Be Organized. Stay Motivated. Get Hired. JobbyCRM.com

Sunday thoughts from JobbyCRM... The hard part of knowing God has a plan for you is the "in between". You know where you started (with Him) and you know where you want to end up (back with Him), its the in between which is hard. Its the same with a job search. You started with a job and you want to end in a job, but its the in between which is hard. The uncertainty, the doubt, the aspirations and 2nd place finishes, and finally the relief in making it to where you want to be (happily employed). Proverbs 3:5-6 ties this in - “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” The great thing is most of the time, all the 2nd place finishes, challenges, and subsequent growth are for your good and you end up better than you were before. Its the "in between" where your faith is tested, where you don't understand, but you just have to trust and have faith. You want it to happen yesterday but God says "be patient". This is the hard part. So if you're a person of faith, regardless of the faith, its important to know that God is working behind the scenes. He has a plan for you and me. He doesn't share the small details but has told us its worth the wait. Remember that this week, put in your effort and God will make up the difference.

  • These companies have announced layoffs in the past few weeks: Amazon with 30,000 people Pinterest with 15% of its workforce Meta Platforms Ltd with 10% Citi with 20,000 people Mastercard with 1,400 people Block with 4,000 people from Square & CashApp Cisco with 10,000 jobs being cut Intel laying off 15,000 people These are all #people who are being tossed back into the job search market. Many with strong tenure at their companies. If you're a Hiring Manager, give preference to those people who are actively looking for a job due to layoff. Don't think they are damaged goods because they got laid off (all too common). And if they have been looking for a while, give them even stronger consideration. Why? Because these are all people with a strong incentive to work hard and NOT be back in the job market again. And if you're from one of those companies above, check out JobbyCRM.com. We can help you get re-employed fast. Be Organized. Stay Motivated. Get Hired.

  • Sunday thoughts from JobbyCRM... In my personal scripture study, I came across this verse: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 Looking for a job can feel like a rollercoaster 🎢 One day you’re confident after a great conversation… The next day you’re staring at your inbox wondering if anyone will ever reply. The truth is: job searches are rarely won with one big moment. 👉 They’re won through consistent, persistent effort over time: • Applying even when yesterday’s application went unanswered • Following up when others would give up • Networking when it feels uncomfortable • Continuing to improve your resume, outreach, and interview skills Setting daily goals and then following through on them. It's the daily grind which pays off. If you stay consistent, the results will come. That’s exactly why JobbyCRM.com exists —> to help job seekers stay organized, motivated, and persistent throughout the job search process. Because the people who succeed in their job search usually aren’t the most talented. They’re the ones who didn’t quit. Be Organized. Stay Motivated. Get Hired. #SundayThoughts

  • Every job interview has that moment. Interviewer: “So… what are your weaknesses?” Candidate: “None.” That’s a bold move. But 100% not believable. There are good ways to answer the weakness question. And they aren't self-serving, they don't reveal anything you don't want to share in an interview, and can actually help you get the job without being a cliche. Don't believe us? Next time you're asked this question in an interview, respond with "I don't have any professional weaknesses I'd like to share, but I can share with you what I have been working on improving..." And then provide them 3 areas of professional improvement, NOT weaknesses. These could include delegation, being more inclusive of other team members over taking everything on yourself, &/or improving your knowledge of current business courses (like that AI certification course you've been thinking about taking). You need to be ready for this question. Come over to JobbyCRM and we can help you. Be Organized. Stay Motivated. Get Hired. JobbyCRM.com

  • As we look to better leverage LinkedIn this week, one area is particularly important to master - the art of #Networking. The Art of Networking isn’t about collecting connections… it’s about finding paths when the front door is closed. A friend of mine once wanted to work at Salesforce and they had the perfect role posted. There was just one problem: The hiring manager was impossible to find. No name on the job listing. No clues on the company website. No obvious person on LinkedIn. Most people would apply and hope for the best. Instead, he used a simple networking trick: 🔥🔥Follow the team, not the title. He searched LinkedIn for people with the same job title as the open role at that company. Then he looked for people one level above them — often Directors or VPs — who likely oversaw that function. 👉He reached out with a short message: “Hi Sarah — I saw your team is hiring for a Senior Account Executive. The role caught my attention because of my background in enterprise SaaS sales. I know you may not be the hiring manager, but I’d appreciate any insight on the team &/or company or who the best person might be to speak with.” Two things usually happen: 1️⃣ They point you to the hiring manager 2️⃣ They forward your message internally Either way… you’ve already done something most applicants haven’t: ⭐⭐You’ve become a person instead of a resume in a pile. Networking isn’t about being pushy. It’s about being #resourceful. And sometimes the best door into a company… is the one you didn’t knock on first. Pro Tip: ask if they have an employee referral program!
