✨𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱✨: What an excellent year for the IoT-UC Research Lab! New projects, seminars, students, and publications were part of this first official year of IoT-UC: The #InternetofThings and #UbiquitousComputing Lab led by Prof. Miguel Gutiérrez Gaitán at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. A few highlights worth resharing: 🎉 🏆 We were part of the winning proposal for the new ANID Chile #CyberPhysicalSystems #Research and #Technology Center (CPS-RTC), which represents the first center of this kind in Latin America. Thanks to the IoT-UC international collaborators who believed in this vision: Luís Almeida (University of Porto, Portugal), Thomas Watteyne (INRIA Paris, France), and Virginia Pilloni (University of Cagliari, Italy), and of course to the colleagues leading this ambitious initiative, Felipe Nuñez and María Rodríguez-Fernández. 🛰️ 📡 We received funding for two research projects in #SatelliteIoT, notably with international partners in France, Juan A. Fraire and Oana I. (INRIA/INSA Lyon), and Brazil, Richard Demo Souza (UFSC). Thanks also to the national colleagues involved, Christian Oberli, Cesar Azurdia and Marcos Diaz. 📄💡 More than 15 research papers were accepted over the past year, including conference papers, posters, abstracts, and journal articles. Thanks to our long-standing co-authors, Luís Almeida, Pedro M. d'Orey, Thomas Watteyne, Pedro Santos, Luis Pinto, Radha Reddy, Harrison Kurunathan, Ramiro Samano Robles, Mauricio Rodríguez, as well as our new collaborators, Gustavo Siles, Marcos Díaz, Pablo Palacios, Christian Oberli, Alejandro I. Maass, Virginia Pilloni, Marco Martalo’, Giovanni Pettorru, Samuel Montejo, Felipe Augusto Tondo, Yousef Emami, Francisco Cruz and Luis Pessoa, for their support. 👩🎓👨🎓 Several #PhD, #Master’s, and undergraduate students have chosen to conduct their research in the IoT-UC Lab on topics related to #wireless #communications, #radiopropagation, #sensing, #realtime #networking, #tinyML, and #security, always under the #IoT and #IIoT umbrella. As a result, in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 we will host at least 10 graduate students (6 PhD and 4 Master’s). Thank you to all of them: Antonio Dávila, Cristóbal Huidobro, Camila Conde, Alejandro Enrico Mayo Navas, Sebastián Silva, Hugo Cárdenas, Cristóbal Rosales, Livio Bisogni, Fernando Vergara, and Vicente Navarrete; and also to all other undergraduate students who contributed to this successful year: Christian Saavedra, Sofía Gutiérrez, Gabriel Aldunate, Alonso Rivera, Felipe Muller, and Francisco Wulf.
