  • AI has the power to make communication more accessible and that’s exactly what we’re focused on at InnoCaption. We appreciated the opportunity for our COO, Paul Lee, to speak with Gael Hannan on this week’s episode of This Week in Hearing. Listen to their conversation about our new AI Refine feature, live-captioned video calls, and the growing role AI can play in making communication more accessible for people with hearing loss.

Today we launched InnoCaption Video, and it has been a long time coming. For years, our users told us how much they preferred video calling apps like FaceTime for connecting with loved ones because seeing faces and reading lips makes a real difference. But they also told us about the poor quality and usability of the built-in captions. InnoCaption Video was designed from the ground up with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community in mind. Fast, accurate, AI-powered captions always on screen and visible for both parties. Works across iOS and Android so you can call anyone, regardless of what phone they have. A huge thank you to our engineering team, who worked incredibly hard to bring this to life, and to our user community, whose feedback made it possible. Watch the full video below.

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing community has always preferred video calls — seeing someone's face, reading their lips and expressions, makes all the difference. But most platforms weren't built with accessibility in mind. So we built one that was. Introducing InnoCaption Video. ✅ Fast, accurate captions ✅ Keeps captions always onscreen ✅ Works across iOS and Android (And yes, hearing friends and family can download it, too.) Here's what one of our users had to say: “As someone who’s been profoundly deaf their whole life, I’ve always had a bit of anxiety around calls but InnoCaption Video has changed that for me. It makes video calls feel so easy!" — Abigail Erb, author of The Deaf Girl Try InnoCaption Video today. Link in the comments 👇 #DeafCommunity #HardOfHearing #Accessibility #InnoCaption

  • As Dustin prepares to welcome his first baby, he’s also preparing for a call that will change his life. Stories like this are why we do what we do. 🩵

There’s a phone call I can’t miss and I won’t know when it’s coming. My wife and I are expecting our first baby boy. For the first time in my life, I’m waiting on a call that will change everything. I’ve written before about what it’s like to navigate phone calls on the road. - the background noise - unpredictable audio -unknown numbers It doesn’t get any easier when you’re waiting on the most important call of your life. Speaking season is picking up and my calendar is filling up. Somewhere between flights, hotel check-ins or walking into an event, that call is coming. What I know is that I won’t: - wonder if I heard her right -ask her to repeat herself - miss a single word Because I’ll have captions. InnoCaption has been part of how I stay connected on the road for years now. But this summer, being connected will mean something entirely different. Accessibility isn’t just about the workplace. (It’s about life.) To every d/Deaf and hard of hearing parent, parent-to-be, or anyone who has ever held their breath waiting for a call they couldn’t afford to miss: You deserve tools that work when it matters most. #Accessibility #Communication #AssistiveTechnology #Inclusion #Community #DeafCommunity Image description: A photo of Dustin and his wife Brittanie holding an ultrasound photo on the beach while showing the “I love you” sign in sign language 🤟🏼

  • There's just over a week left in Deaf History Month. But it isn't just a calendar moment — it's a reminder that Deaf history is living history.   It's about language, culture, and community. It's about leaders who changed what's possible. It's about advocacy that made equal access a right, not a privilege. And it's about the work that continues today.   That's not an April thing. That's an everyday thing.   Swipe, share, and keep the conversation going. ➡️

  • We've always said the best people to build for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community are those within it. 💙 That's why we're beyond thrilled to welcome Tina Gonzales Childress as our new Director of Accessibility. She's been in our corner as a consultant, and now she's officially part of the team full time. Welcome, Tina. Let's get to work. 👇

I'm an audiologist. A late-deafened adult with bilateral cochlear implants. Someone who signs and speaks. An advocate. Also known as "Techy Tina."   And for a long time, I've believed that technology should move us beyond access — into true inclusion.   Today, I'm excited to share that I'm stepping into a new role as Director of Accessibility at InnoCaption. 🎉   Over the past year, I've had the privilege of working with the team as an accessibility consultant — and I'm so grateful to now continue this work full time.   In this role, I'll be: → Advancing inclusive communication and access solutions → Promoting the benefits of real-time captioning → Collaborating with communities and industry partners to ensure no one is left out of the conversation   I'll keep doing what's always been at the heart of my work — creating resources, sharing tools, and supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.   If you or someone you know has hearing loss, difficulty understanding on the phone, or communication access needs, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to connect and help.   Because communication access isn't optional — it's essential.   #Accessibility #DeafCommunity #CochlearImplant #HardOfHearing #RealTimeCaptioning #InclusiveTech #InnoCaption (This image contains alt-text.)

Not everyone has the same relationship with their disability. Some would feel torn if given the choice to change it. Others wouldn’t change a single thing. A new short film called "Enough" holds space for all of it. Directed by and starring Elisa Richards alongside actress Becki Hayes, "Enough" explores generational deafness with rare honesty and nuance — including eight visual nods woven in specifically for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. We're honored to sponsor "Enough" as part of the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge 2026. 🎥 Watch it now before April 12. 🔗 Link in the comments. #EastersesalsDisabilityFilmFestival #EastersealsDisabilityFilmChallenge #EDFC2026 #Enough #Deaf #HardOfHearing #DHH #HearingLoss #DeafRepresentation #DisabilityInclusion #InclusionInFilm #Accessibility
