Last week, 27 Ideastream staff members volunteered at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, and Mid-Ohio Food Collective to sort and pack food for people in those communities. The team sorted and packed 11,258 pounds of food, 1,083 meals, 718 boxes of dry goods, 21 pallets of frozen goods, and prepped over 1,200 disaster relief boxes for SNAP recipients across the three locations. It was a wonderful day of giving back to the communities that we serve!

Happy 75th birthday, WKSU! On October 2, 1950, WKSU began as a student-led educational broadcast from Kent State University, transmitting programming via an antenna attached to a 50-foot pole. Today, 89.7-FM delivers vital local information and national programming from NPR. The station reaches 3.6 million people across 22 counties in Northeast Ohio—and digital audiences far beyond.
