The U.S. Department of Justice arrested the alleged administrator of the KimWolf #DDoS botnet. KimWolf infected over one million devices worldwide, generated nearly 30 terabits per second of attack traffic — a record — and issued more than 25,000 attack commands. It caused financial losses exceeding $1M for individual victims and targeted Department of Defense infrastructure. Hydrolix was among a small group of technology companies acknowledged by the DOJ for assistance provided during the investigation and operation, alongside organizations including Akamai, AWS, Cloudflare, Google, and others.
