"There were so many times law enforcement missed it. Nobody said anything, and it was right there in plain sight." Karla Solomon was a victim of human trafficking in Texas. As her trafficker moved her throughout the state and across the American heartland, the signs were missed again and again. Then one trauma-informed interaction with Texas DPS changed everything. Today, HTI is partnering with Karla as a consultant to train the officers and prosecutors who will notice next time, so more victims are identified, more cases are built, and more traffickers are stopped for good. One mission.    Last week, HTI partnered with the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) to train law enforcement, prosecutors, and first responders across the Commonwealth – from Arlington to Hampton Roads.    Participants left equipped to identify victims, navigate Virginia’s trafficking statutes, and build the kind of cases that hold traffickers accountable. #HTIImpact #EndTrafficking

Following a recent HTI training on human trafficking, a Patrol Officer with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office shared: “I can definitely and infinitively say that with a better understanding of trafficking, I feel more confident clocking into work, beginning my shift, and knowing that I know better so I can do better.” Equipping law enforcement with practical tools and actionable intelligence strengthens case identification and supports successful prosecution.
