From the first wall to the final details, builds like these are powered by partnership, teamwork, and a shared commitment to strengthening our community. We’re grateful to ConocoPhillips for stepping onto the build site and investing in affordable homeownership for Houston families, and we look forward to building together in the weeks ahead! 💙

HBA is building their 28th home this spring. We are so grateful for the support of the bar. For almost thirty years, bar members have come together to build affordable homes for Houstonians. Together, Chevron Houston and Houston Habitat celebrated a meaningful milestone with Kitina as she received the keys to her new home. In less than a year, Kitina completed the program through hard work, determination, and commitment, an incredible accomplishment that reflects the strength of our family partners. Her journey was driven by a need for safety and stability, moving from an unsafe environment to a home where she and her children can truly feel secure. Moments like today are made possible through partnership. We are especially grateful to Chevron, who sponsored this home — their 65th build with Houston Habitat — and continue to invest in stronger, safer communities across Houston. Kitina’s story speaks to what can happen when families are given the opportunity to put in the work and build something better for themselves and the next generation.

Homeownership is about independence, stability, and the future you build together. Olga shares her journey from growing up in a family of 10 to becoming a Houston Habitat homeowner alongside her husband, Martín. Together, they balanced work, completed more than 250 hours of sweat equity and classes, and built a place they can truly call their own. Today, it’s the simple things — like cooking in her own kitchen — that mean the most. At Houston Habitat, safety is an important foundation of everything we build. You don’t need construction experience to volunteer on our sites, just a willingness to learn and be part of a team. We prioritize safety at every step, including required personal protective equipment like hard hats, safety goggles, and gloves, along with clear instruction on tools and tasks.
