  • The rapid growth of AI-driven computing is accelerating demand for new data center capacity, but it also brings complex environmental and regulatory challenges. Water availability, permitting timelines, energy and water tradeoffs, and rising sustainability expectations are all shaping how quickly projects can move from concept to operation. At GSI, we help data center developers, investors, and operators navigate these constraints with integrated environmental and resource management expertise throughout the project's life span: site screening and selection, permitting and construction, community engagement, operations, climate initiatives, and liability protection. By combining technical precision with regulatory foresight, we help de-risk portfolios, streamline approvals, and optimize energy and water efficiency. Our experts help clients bridge the gap between ambitious development timelines and complex environmental realities so facilities can power up faster and remain resilient for the future. #DataCenters #DigitalInfrastructure #EnvironmentalConsulting #SiteSelection #Permitting #Sustainability #WaterResources #InfrastructureDevelopment #GSIExperts

  • We’re back with another word from our 40 Words for 40 Years series, each one chosen by someone on the GSI team. Today’s word: KEYSTONE. A keystone is what holds everything together. It is the piece that provides strength, stability, and structure. At GSI, being a keystone means being a trusted partner our clients can rely on. It means bringing together technical expertise, practical solutions, and a clear understanding of complex environmental challenges to support progress from start to finish. It is the role we play on projects, connecting disciplines, guiding decisions, and helping ensure that every piece works together as it should. Because strong outcomes depend on a solid foundation and the people who help hold it in place. Follow along as we continue telling GSI’s story, one word at a time. Cheers to 40 years of making science count. 10/40 #GSI40 #40WordsFor40Years #MakingScienceCount

  • As part of GSI’s 40th anniversary, we’re partnering with Engineers Without Borders USA to support a critical water project in Peru. We invite you to partner with us by donating here, https://lnkd.in/gYA8XGCD.   Water is everything in the high Andes of Peru. For the Q’ero Anexo Chua Chua community, it’s what keeps crops growing, supports healthy livestock, and sustains daily life for about 150 people and their herd of roughly 2,500 llamas.    Our partnership will support an agricultural irrigation project that adds water storage through a new dam and retention lagoon, connected to a previously built spring box. This added storage means more reliable agricultural water, helping improve food security, animal health, and economic stability for the community.   As we celebrate 40 years of making science count, we invite you to partner with GSI and Engineers Without Borders USA to create impact that extends far beyond this milestone year.   #GSI40Years #EngineersWithoutBorders #WaterSecurity #SustainableInfrastructure #EngineeringTheFutureTogether #Peru #GSIExperts #MakingScienceCount
