  • From construction sites to Arctic conditions, fleet electrification is happening right now. Through our Electrification Analysis, we help customers understand where EVs make sense today and how to scale with confidence. These customer results prove that progress and performance can go hand in hand.

As CSOs, many of us are staring down the same challenge: how to decarbonize our businesses without compromising reliability, profitability, or performance. At General Motors, we’re working on this from both sides — transforming our own operations and working with companies to electrify their corporate vehicles and light duty trucks. A big part of that is meeting fleets where they are with data, tools, and real-world proof points. GM Fleet’s Electrification Analysis helps take the guesswork out of when, where, and how to transition to EVs. It combines a Fleet Driver Survey (covering driving habits, home charging readiness and adoption barriers) with a Telematics Analysis of real-world driving data to match routes with the right GM EVs and charging solutions, then turns those insights into a tailored EV roadmap for each customer. This isn’t theoretical. Construction firm McKinstry set a goal to electrify their full fleet, more than 860 vehicles, by 2028. They used our analysis to validate that the Chevrolet Silverado EV could meet demanding work truck needs, identify optimal charging strategies, and understand ICE‑to‑EV compatibility.  They’ve already deployed 114 EVs (100 are Silverados). They’re seeing roughly a 50% reduction in fuel costs and lower maintenance needs – and they can still configure their electric trucks for plumbers, electricians, sheet‑metal technicians, and more. In Alaska, Delta Leasing, LLC put Silverado EVs to work on the North Slope, where winter temperatures can hit -40 degrees. Even under Arctic conditions and on rough industrial roads, they saw immediate savings on fuel and maintenance, and the trucks exceeded expectations on capability and range — enough that they now “see a future for it in the Arctic.” Stories like these matter. They prove that electrifying fleets is not only possible, but practical — across climates, industries, and use cases. Decarbonizing transportation is a team sport; none of us will hit our goals alone. If you’re a fellow CSO or #sustainability leader working through how to decarbonize your corporate vehicles or light duty truck fleets — whether you’re just starting or scaling — my team and I would love to compare notes and help however we can. Please reach out so we can move faster together.
