Gen. David Hodne, commanding general, U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command, delivered a powerful closing keynote at #AUSAGlobal, outlining a bold vision for how the US Army is adapting to the rapidly evolving character of war. In a world where the battlefield has become transparent, incremental change is no longer enough, “our challenge is to transform our Army at speed and scale to yield land power, a United States Army that can gain initiative for the entire joint force, and this land force initiative is critical to defeating adversaries,” Hodne said. To meet this challenge, the Army activated T2COM, a historic move consolidating force generation, development and design under one command. Hodne described T2COM as the “engine room of the Army,” designed to be agile, responsive, and innovative. T2COM is a deliberate reset, designed to close the gaps between vision and execution. Our mission is simple, “enable the Army to defeat all adversaries and adapt to the ever-changing character of war.” We are creating an agile framework that ensures readiness, valuing discipline, initiative, and disruption to overcome the drawback of past processes, and we will innovate with urgency. T2COM will deliver more lethal, agile, and future-ready formations, all of which strengthen the profession.
