With the recent close of our fourth fund, the Frist Cressey Ventures team has gotten a lot of questions about what we're looking for right now. In our Investor Wishlist series, each FCV investor will highlight exactly what they hope to find next. Meet Matt Schappell! 1. What qualities make a founder stand out? "Visionary, passionate, relentless, and fast-learning. Founders who can process signal quickly, form a view, and stay maniacally focused on what actually drives outcomes." 2. What sector are you currently hyper-fixating on? "Any sector where there is a founder who possesses the qualities mentioned above in question 1! But more tangibly, infrastructure layers that reshape how technology is deployed and operationalized within healthcare." 3. You're especially looking for companies that_____: "Have a grand vision of where healthcare is headed. This might be things like building new systems of record, leveraging differentiated data, driving immediate ROI, or introducing novel pricing models." 4. I want to meet founders solving____: "Big problems in massive markets. Sounds simplistic, but if you're a top-notch founder (i.e. point 1!) solving a big problem in a massive market, I'd love to connect!" Think you're a fit (or know someone who is)? I feel so privileged to get to work with extraordinary people like Dr. Barbara Levy, MD, FACOG, FACS, who is one of the world's most preeminent experts in women's health. Dr. Levy has helped push women's health forward in so many ways - from pushing for fair reimbursement as the chair of the RUC (and current vice chair of the CPT panel) to working to get the black box warning removed from hormone replacement therapy. Last week, Dr. Levy was invited to speak at HHS's National Conference on Women's Health to share her expertise on menopause, hormone health, and longevity (with stellar co-panelists, I might add!). She always has amazing points on how care can be improved for women - check out the article in the comments to hear what she said. #womenshealth #digitalhealth #healthtech

With the recent close of our fourth fund, the Frist Cressey Ventures team has gotten a lot of questions about what we're about right now. In our Investor Wishlist series, each FCV investor will highlight exactly what they hope to find next. First up: Tommaso Auerbach! 1. What qualities make a founder stand out? "Clear thinkers who challenge and redesign systems. Obsession with their domain. A balance of near-term restlessness and relentless pace with a long-term desire to build a multi-generational platform." 2. What sector are you currently hyper-fixating on? "Anything that sits at the intersection of human health and AI. I'm focused on companies using AI to redesign how science is discovered, how therapies reach patients, and how care is delivered." 3. You're especially looking for companies that_____: "🔵 Accelerate scientific discovery - computational bio foundation models, agentic co-pilots for scientists and researchers, robotic wet-labs, and bioanalysis. 🔵 Increase the pace at which therapies reach patients - automate knowledge work for life sciences, medication access platforms, and precision diagnostics. 🔵 Extend the reach of providers - clinical co-pilots and agentic diagnostics. 🔵 Help patients have more say in their care journey - patient navigators and D2C medication programs." Think you're a fit (or know someone who is)? Reach out here: https://lnkd.in/gxMWnRM8
