Whether he’s wedged inside a vending machine or wiping out spectacularly in the snow, every gag in Season 2 was built around Ted’s very specific brand of chaos — instinctive, unpredictable, and usually one bad decision away from disaster. For Framestore’s Melbourne and Mumbai teams, that meant dialling up Ted’s performance with sharper physical interactions, quicker reactions, and the tiny micro-expressions that land the joke before you even realise why you’re laughing. Catch more of Ted’s bad decisions — and the VFX behind every one of them — in our full breakdown on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/gN8AZHpM And if bringing characters like Ted to life sounds like your kind of chaos, we’re hiring in Animation across all our studios. How do you give a soul to a faceless alien? How do you convey intelligence, humor, and heartbreak using only five arms and a metallic carapace? If you're at SXSW London, join our Senior Animation Supervisor Arslan Elver at UK House as he pulls back the curtain on bringing Project Hail Mary’s ‘Rocky’ to life. It’s always a good day when people across different teams get a chance to step away from their desks and connect. Our Mumbai studio recently caught the creative buzz at the VAM Festival, and we celebrated the launch of the Women* in Frame ERG across all of our global locations. Over in Montreal, teams stripped things back to basics for monthly Life Drawing classes, Melbourne gathered for a special screening of The Sheep Detectives, and much more. Whether we're hanging out at a screening or trying something completely new after hours, it's safe to say there's never a dull moment. #LifeAtFramestore #VFXCommunity

How do you turn a 1930s-style traditional cartoon into a living, breathing 3D nightmare? Character Artist Elpida Kyriakou brought the unnerving Mr. Ring-a-Ding to life, and in this exclusive webinar, she pulls back the curtain on our advanced 3D pipeline. See exactly how our teams married early storyboards with complex character turntables to evolve this unique villain from a flat 2D sketch into a grotesque, photo-real 3D reality. Not every machine is built to obey. Some are built to hunt. For War Machine, Framestore’s Melbourne and Mumbai teams helped shape a character conceived not simply as a weapon, but as a relentless predator: instinctive, imposing, and always in pursuit. Starting from early production models, our artists refined the design by stripping back mechanical detail in favour of something more fluid and primal. Inspired by dinosaurs and other bipedal hunters, the animation leaned into imbalance, weight and predatory intent. As the battle escalated, so did the asset. Through evolving texture passes, layered lookdev and six stages of destruction, the War Machine transformed from pristine threat to battle-worn survivor — every dent, scrape and fracture helping tell the story frame by frame. Dive even deeper into the damage, detail and design of the War Machine on our website: https://lnkd.in/dB2YD-JP #WarMachine #VFX #BeforeAndAfter #vfxbreakdown #behindthescenes

Practical effects vs. VFX: Why choose when they work best together? For Alien: Covenant, our team partnered with Director Ridley Scott to create the only entirely CG chestburster sequence in the franchise’s history. That’s why Corridor Crew enlisted the help of Christian Kaestner (VFX Supervisor), Cody Stoof (FX Supervisor) and Aulo Licínio (Animation Supervisor) — as well as special effects legend Alec Gillis — to find out if the chestburster is best recreated with old school practical effects or cutting edge VFX. Their conclusion? The best cinematic visuals are a clever combination of both. Our Chestburster is a complex combination of CG textures, animation and FX, but it couldn't have happened without on-set practical references and timing.
