Here’s a strong showcase of what on‑demand–driven supply chains can unlock. Seeing innovative partners like Valland SpA lead the way reinforces our mission—and proves that Industry 4.0 isn’t a distant ambition, but a scalable reality already unfolding. In 2025, a customer came to Valland with a challenge: develop a PVT valve small and light enough to fit a 1/2" NPT connection on valves already in service. Traditional manufacturing made this impossible. The internal geometries and size constraints simply couldn’t be achieved with forging, casting, or machining. Additive manufacturing changed the equation. By leveraging Valland’s engineering expertise and Valland3D’s metal AM capability, the team optimized internal geometries, reduced weight and material use, and delivered a component that could not have existed before. The timeline speaks for itself: 📅 April 2025: challenge identified 📅 October 2025: prototype printed and tested 📅 December 2025: 77 units ordered via Fieldnode’s Digital Inventory 📅 March 2026: delivery of serial production units From first call to production order in just eight months ⏩—and now ready for global deployment through Fieldnode Digital Inventory. But the impact goes far beyond one component. It also demonstrates the real strength of combining a digital supply network with an on‑demand manufacturing model: ➡️ From problem‑solving to serial production. Solved for one— now ready for many. With partners like Valland SpA, we’re turning on-demand manufacturing and digital inventory into a truly resilient and scalable Industry 4.0 digital supply chain. And we’re only getting started. Reach out today—your on‑demand potential is much bigger than you think. #ondemandemanufacturing #digitalinventory #industry4_0 #supplychain #digitalsupply
The timeline: from first call to production order in 8 months Eight months from the first phone call to serial production. This was the concrete timeline of our project with Vår Energi, covering everything from understanding the initial challenge to manufacturing the final units. The process began in April 2025. By Summer 2025, design iterations and engineering collaboration were underway between the client, Valland engineering, and Valland3D. A prototype was printed and official testing was witnessed and completed by the end of October. In December 2025, an official purchase order for 77 units was placed through the Digital Inventory platform, Fieldnode. With delivery scheduled for March 2026, this project demonstrates the efficiency of our integrated model. We have significantly shortened the lead time for complex hardware, moving from a concept to a tested, serial production order in less than a year. #Valland #AdditiveManufacturing #Innovation Vår Energi - Susannah Widmer - Inger Eriksen - Ánte Máhtte Eira - Kurt Mikkelsen - Liv Jannie Omdal - Jan Eirik Heigre Gjerdevik - Trine Boyer
