One of my mentees landed her first remote job yesterday. It was a simple contract role worth $450, but it was honest work, and more importantly, it was a start. A lot of people underestimate opportunities like this because of the amount attached to them. But in context, $450 is worth about 8 months of minimum wage in Nigeria. That’s the thing about remote work: sometimes the first opportunity is not life-changing money overnight, but it can completely change someone’s direction.
