We represent the European Union in the United States.
About us
The European Union (EU) is represented in the United States by its Delegation in Washington, D.C., which works in close coordination with the Embassies of the 27 EU Member States. The current Ambassador is Jovita Neliupšienė. Our Delegation in Washington, D.C., represents and promotes the interests and values of the European Union in the United States. This includes presenting and explaining EU policies and actions to the different branches and levels of the U.S. Administration, Congress, and across the country, as well as promoting EU-U.S. cooperation in all fields. We engage inside and outside of Washington with the American public, political actors, the media, academia, business, think tanks, and civil society to raise awareness on the importance of the transatlantic relationship and its unparalleled contribution to the prosperity and security of Europeans and Americans alike. The EU also maintains an office in New York, serving as the Delegation to the United Nations, and in San Francisco, mainly handling digital policy. Today, the partners of the Coalition of the Willing convened to discuss ongoing negotiations toward a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. In recent days and hours, we have seen solid and encouraging progress. We welcomed the presence of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during our call. We need strong transatlantic cooperation. Because it delivers. Take the significant impact of our coordinated and successive waves of sanctions against the Russian economy. They are shrinking the resources Russia has to wage its war of aggression. And since pressure remains the only language Russia responds to, we will continue to increase it until there is a genuine willingness to engage on a credible path toward peace. As Europe and its partners are fully engaged in the search for a just and sustainable peace, last night Russia escalated its attacks on Kyiv, with missiles and drones even violating Moldovan and Romanian airspace. It is yet another reminder that Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security. Ukraine’s interests are our interests. They are inseparable. This is why we will continue to stand firmly by Ukraine in the negotiations ahead. A central point is the question of financing for Ukraine including the use of the immobilised Russian sovereign assets.

We welcome the continued US efforts to bring peace to Ukraine. The initial draft of the 28-point plan includes important elements that will be essential for a just and lasting peace. We believe therefore that the draft is a basis which will require additional work. We are ready to engage in order to ensure that a future peace is sustainable. We are clear on the principle that borders must not be changed by force. We are also concerned by the proposed limitations on Ukraine’s armed forces, which would leave Ukraine vulnerable to future attack. We reiterate that the implementation of elements relating to the European Union and relating to NATO would need the consent of EU and NATO members respectively. We take this opportunity to underline the strength of our continued support to Ukraine. We will continue to coordinate closely with Ukraine and the US over the coming days. → https://lnkd.in/eXaQJ9ti

HillVets was honored to partner again with the European Union Delegation to the United States for the EU Tribute to the Veterans Reception, hosted by Ambassador Jovita Neliupšienė. Together, we paid tribute to American and European servicemembers who stood together, defended shared values, and strengthened the bond between our nations. We were inspired by words from Her Excellency Neliupšienė, Congressman Don Bacon, Congressman Mark Takano, Secretary Edward Rothstein (COL, Ret.) of the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families, Deputy Assistant Secretary Darrell Owens of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Steve Williams of Veterans Coalition International, and our very own Dallas A.. Our speakers reminded us that caring for our veterans is a collective responsibility transcendent of politics that is shared by governments, nonprofits, and communities on both sides of the Atlantic. It was an honor to be in the presence of Dr. Arlester Brown, an American minister, educator, and U.S. Army veteran who served in France during World War II. Dr. Brown’s quiet dignity and lifelong commitment to service remind us that the freedoms and alliances we celebrate are built on sacrifice, courage, and moral leadership. Strength is collective, and it is built through alliances, cooperation, and the belief that we are safer and stronger when we stand together. HillVets is deeply grateful to the European Union Delegation to the United States, Veteran Coalition International, The Washington Tattoo, and to the veterans and active-duty leaders whose service continues to shape the future of our transatlantic relationship. #hillvets #veterans #euintheus #strongertogether HillVets | Justin Brown | Dallas A.
