Last Tuesday, Equitas Health teamed up with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry, and X-Clusive Empowerment Network on Earth Day to lead a community cleanup and serve lunch at the Van Buren Shelter in Columbus. 🌎🙌 Over 50 volunteers took part in the cleanup and helped serve a delicious lunch to over 200 residents at the shelter. The amazing Equitas Health Prevention team also provided 5 same-day HIV/STI screenings on the MOVe. 🚌 A huge shoutout to all the dedicated staff and partners who helped make the day successful. Your commitment to health, community, and service made a real difference! 👏💜

This week, I attended the annual awards reception for the Women's and Gender Studies Program at Denison University. At the event, Virginia Lawrence -- who was our team's Civic Engagement Intern in fall 2024 and Legislative Affairs Intern in spring 2025 -- was honored with the Nan Nowik Memorial Award for best senior research project. Virginia has made such positive contributions to our team's work over the past academic year. I'm so grateful that her senior research project, which pairs her internship experience with a feminist theoretical analysis, was recognized with this distinction. We're so proud of her, and we're excited for her upcoming graduation. On April 11, pharmacists Shreya (she/her), Teagan (she/her), and Grace (she/her) represented Equitas Health at the annual Ohio Pharmacists Association Conference. Their presentation, "Inclusive Practice in Focus: The Pharmacist’s Role in Gender-Affirming Care," highlighted the critical role pharmacists play in supporting gender-diverse patients. An engaged audience of pharmacists and pharmacy students reflected the growing interest and need for inclusive, informed care within the profession. 🙌 We are proud of our pharmacists’ continued commitment to advancing education and advocating for equitable healthcare.
