Proud to be an Innovation Sponsor of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators (CSA) Skyline Social II alongside some incredible mission-aligned organizations. At Edia, we believe the work of supporting students starts with supporting the leaders who show up for them every single day. Events like this one, spaces where principals and administrators can connect, recharge, and invest in each other, matter deeply. Thank you to Brett Roer and the CSA team for cultivating a community that school leaders can count on. We're honored to play even a small role in making it happen. https://edia.app/

We are just one week away from the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators (CSA) Skyline Social II, and I find myself reflecting on my passion for supporting events like these. Serving as a NYC Public Schools Principal was the most challenging role I've ever undertaken. Balancing work, family, and the myriad responsibilities of a school leader often made it difficult to attend gatherings like this during my tenure. I continue to be amazed by how leaders of these affinity groups and caucuses cultivate incredible communities for their members while simultaneously managing their schools and districts. They consistently show up for their staff and students, and then they show up for each other. Last year's event was such a success that this year, 200 NYC Public Schools leaders registered in just five minutes! This is why I am a strong advocate for securing mission-aligned sponsors who support events like this one. These gatherings rely on partners who believe in investing in the individuals who lead our schools. Premier Sponsors: - CITE (Center for Integrated Training & Education) - Study Smart Tutors - Solved Innovation Level Sponsors: - Edia / Victoria Macoul - DF Tees - Innovamat / Prynce Karki - Jupiter Ed / Stuart Miles - Kognity / Sarah Daley - LEGO Education / Joseph Sanfilippo - Savvas Learning Company / Joseph Hummel - Super Teacher Inc. / Tim Novikoff To the leaders of the CSA High School Principals Association (HSAPA), the CSA AP Association (AAP), the CSA EA Association (EAA), the CSA Italian American Caucus (IAC), and the CSA Jewish American Caucus (AJA): your dedication to your members and communities is truly inspiring. I look forward to being in community with all of you next week and celebrating an incredible school year. Thank you for leading with your values and for the significant impact you have on the students, staff, and families of New York City.

Chronic absenteeism is an early warning problem, not just an attendance tracking problem. "Our attendance teams were broken. We could not keep up with the sheer numbers." That's Dunkirk City School District Superintendent Brian Swatland describing where his district was just one year ago, when over 38% of students were chronically absent. Today? That number is 20%. Not because they hired more staff. Because they stopped asking their teams to spend time pulling and compiling data and started letting AI handle it, so humans could focus on the work that matters more, the students. That's the shift. At Edia, we built the AI-Powered Attendance Solution around exactly this idea. Your team's time is too valuable to spend on spreadsheets. Give them intelligence. Let them do the work only humans can do. See the full article in EdTech Magazine here: https://lnkd.in/e8Gu-FWr We would love to show you how this could work for your district. Edia is featured in this month's Texas Association of School Administrators Business Magazine talking about how AI is reshaping attendance work. Chronic absenteeism is one of the biggest crises facing K-12 today — and most "solutions" are just dashboards that tell you how bad it already is. We built something different. Edia's AI Attendance Agent texts parents the moment a student is marked absent, finding out the root cause of absenteeism and getting kids back in class faster. The results from districts using it: → 50–60% parent reply rates → Dunkirk City Schools: chronic absenteeism cut from 38% to 19% in a single semester → Farmington Municipal Schools: 1,580+ staff hours saved As our CEO, Joe Philleo, said: "Edia AI is like a power tool — the work is dramatically eased, accelerated, and improved." If your district is fighting chronic absenteeism, let's talk. 📰 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/eN-e25aG 🔗 See it in action: https://lnkd.in/eeTVxQDa

Albany County, NY just launched a countywide pilot program with Edia — tackling chronic absenteeism across all districts. "With an average unexcused absence rate of ~26% across 12 public school districts — over 9,000 chronically absent students — county and district leaders knew they needed a new approach." As RCS Superintendent Craig Chandler put it: if we want different results, we need to try doing things differently. Edia's AI AI-Powered Attendance Solution automates two-way family outreach within minutes of an absence, helps uncover root causes, and gives school teams the tools to intervene early — before absenteeism becomes a pattern. Albany County is backing the initiative with gap funding from School Bus Safety Program revenues, and through this initiative, these data-driven resources are now available to every district in the Capitol Region. He joined us to share the changes he made in to get there and what that transformation has meant for students. He didn't just show up with data. He showed up with a story about what happens to a community when its kids start coming back to school. https://lnkd.in/eeTVxQDa

Dunkirk City School District Superintendent Brian Swatland just shared the answer: an 18% drop in chronic absenteeism over two school years. Dedicated attendance committees, direct communication with families, and real-time data all played a role in getting students back in seats. Join us this Thursday, March 12th at 3 PM ET for a live webinar with Superintendent Swatland, where we'll dig into what's working, what they learned, and how other districts can replicate these results.
