We are honored to share that DeepOcean has won the Innovation in Decommissioning Award at the 9th Decom Mission Awards. The award recognizes our work on the Gryphon Alpha FPSO decommissioning project, delivered for TotalEnergies – a first-of-its-kind scope executed entirely diverless and enabled by proprietary tooling designed and built in-house by our teams. Decommissioning is complex, and doing it better, safer, smarter and more sustainably takes efforts from all involved. Thank you to the Decom Mission community for celebrating progress across the sector, and to our teams, partners, and clients who make this work possible. 👉 For a closer look at the project, see our Gryphon video series: https://lnkd.in/eV4_bDv8

  • DeepOcean has been awarded a significant subsea contract package by Equinor, covering multiple fields on the Norwegian continental shelf. The scope includes installation work at the Visund Field, a subsea tie-back installation at the Isflak discovery near the Johan Castberg FPSO in the Barents Sea, and an option for riser and umbilical recovery at Snorre A. The offshore work spans the 2027-28 seasons. "Assignments of this complexity require strong coordination and robust safety planning across both the operator and our subcontractor network to secure seamless execution. Our proven track record on comparable projects for Equinor makes us proud to be selected again," says Olaf A. Hansen, Executive Vice President for DeepOcean's Northern Europe region. • DeepOcean has been awarded a contract to support the subsea decommissioning and disconnection of an FPSO in the UK sector of the North Sea. The scope includes isolation and disconnection of subsea trees, manifolds and pipeline infrastructure, riser and umbilical disconnection, mooring chain severance and recovery, and FPSO sail away and tow to shore. This project will be managed and executed from by DeepOcean’s operations in Aberdeen, UK, building on methodologies and proprietary tooling pioneered at the Gryphon Alpha FPSO disconnection. • A look back at the delivery of a complex subsea recycling operation DeepOcean completed the Gryphon Alpha FPSO disconnection and removal project, delivered for TotalEnergies. The scope included pipeline flushing, disconnection of flowlines and umbilicals, removal of risers and subsea infrastructure, and towing of the FPSO. A key milestone was the successful execution of spool disconnection and blind flange installation using proprietary, in-house developed tooling – enabling the entire operation to be carried out without divers. This video highlights moments from the campaign and capabilities behind it. The full video series, covering the project in more detail, is available in link below in the comments.

DeepOcean completes first subsea intervention project with offshore operational leadership based onshore The work, carried out for Aker BP ASA at the Idun Nord field in the Norwegian Sea, was led onshore, including the shift supervisor, from a remote operating centre (ROC). The scope required subsea crane operations and close-proximity vessel positioning. This setup enabled completion within a 12-hour shift, compared to the historic need for a full 14-day offshore rotation for personnel, reducing time offshore and allowing more flexible use of specialist expertise across projects.
