Last Friday night, the Oklahoma County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division hosted the 20th Annual Chili Cook-Off at Leadership Square, and our team brought the heat! We’re thrilled to share that the Firm’s team -- represented by associates Emily I., Jaycee (Booth) Simon, Sarah Simpson, Amanda Finch, Hank Herren, Kaleigh Ewing, and Duncan Merchan-Breuer -- took home First Place in the Non-Traditional Chili category AND the Championship for Best Overall Chili! A big shoutout to the winning team, joined by Andrew Henry and our adorable team mascot, baby Avor! As part of our ongoing celebration of Black History Month, we were honored to host our 4th Annual "Family Dinner: A Celebration of Black Excellence with BLSA", bringing together students from University of Oklahoma College of Law Black Law Students Association and Oklahoma City University School of Law BLSA, esteemed judges, Crowe Dunlevy attorneys, and distinguished members of the legal community. This special evening was dedicated to celebrating the incredible work of BLSA chapters on campus and their commitment to fostering leadership, advocacy, and excellence within the legal community. The Oklahoma legislature recently took an active role in preventing the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) from using certain methods, like extrapolation, to determine overpayment amounts. Healthcare Practice Group members Elizabeth Dalton and Emily Isbill discuss the new law that prohibits these auditing procedures and the efforts to recoup payments for providers who may have been affected. https://ow.ly/Uokx50Yipee
