🚨 The U.S. just made it official: AI education is a national priority. A new Executive Order calls for every K-12 student to learn AI and Computer Science with new support for teacher training, and public-private partnerships to prepare the next generation for an AI-powered future. This is a major validation of what our movement and Code.org has long championed: 🧠 AI is the future. CS is the foundation. Every student deserves access to both. But here’s the reality: just 6% of high schoolers take computer science today. Millions are graduating unprepared for the world AI is already reshaping. On May 5, we launch Unlock8—a campaign to change that. We're working with states to make CS and AI a graduation requirement, backed by research that shows one course can boost earnings by 8% and employment by 3%. Our future is being built on AI.
