Hiring this year? There are some changes you’ll want to know about (this has come up no short of 10 times in client convos over the last few months). **Compensation rules are shifting, and it’s getting trickier to keep things compliant. ** A few highlights: - Salary thresholds are going up – If someone’s exempt, you’ll need to hit the new minimums (and they’re not low). - Not all commission roles are exempt – Inside sales roles often don’t qualify, even if they’re making great money. - State laws matter – What flies in one state (like Nevada) might get you into trouble in another (like California).
