"One of the greatest joys for me today is knowing my family sees me doing good. Seeing pride and relief in their eyes reminds me that change doesn’t only affect me—it affects everyone who loves me. I’m incredibly grateful to the staff at CityTeam. You didn’t just give me room and board—you gave me a chance. You gave me structure, advice, guidance, and support when I needed it most. You saw potential in me even when I was still learning how to see it in myself." -Tory, CityTeam Graduate Class of 2026 🎓 #alcoholfree #soberlife #treatment

🗣️ "One evening, while I was incarcerated, I was leaning against the wall in barracks 9, while I watched the other inmates laughing and joking like nothing in life mattered. But for me, everything felt like it was moving in slow motion. In that moment, something inside of me broke and something new began. I thought to myself, 'I don’t want to live the rest of my life like this.' Today, I stand here grateful and not because my past is perfect, but because my future is possible. CityTeam didn’t just give me a program. They gave me structure. They gave me accountability. They gave me hope." -Tommy, CityTeam Graduate Class of 2026 🎓

This MLK Day I had the privilege of joining a service trip led by GFU's Spiritual Life office, and it was inspiring to see faith in action. In the morning, we helped at Embrace Compassion, where children battling pediatric cancer and their families can rest, play, and find support from people who truly understand their journey. A huge thank you to Jennifer Bridges for welcoming us and sharing the heart behind this mission. Later, we spent time at CityTeam Portland, hearing powerful testimonies and assembling hygiene kits and sack lunches. Seeing how their work lifts others up and makes a tangible difference was incredibly encouraging. I left the day with a deep sense of awe at the redemptive power of God and feeling inspired by the hope, dignity, and transformation these organizations are bringing to their communities. #MLKDay #FaithInAction #Volunteering #Hope #Transformation

"The staff [at CityTeam] saw something in me that I could not see in myself. They taught me how to deal with my emotions and feelings, instead of running from them. They also taught me that I can lean on God for support, even in the darkest times." 🎓 Calvin, 2026 CityTeam graduate! #GodRestores #FaithOverFear #JesusChangesLives

Four months in, We All Have a Name continues to show up with quiet consistency, and so do the people who make it possible. Every Tuesday and Friday morning, and now Thursdays at lunchtime in partnership with Union Gospel Mission of Portland, volunteers gather alongside trained, lived-experience peer outreach workers to walk the streets, learn names, hear stories, and respond to real needs. That includes access to #shelter vouchers, #recovery-focused shelter options, laundry vouchers, bus tickets for appointments, and warm, practical support that meets people where they are. But there is a second need being met that is often overlooked. Relational equity matters, not only for our #houseless neighbors, but for the #volunteers who come down to serve. Many share that these mornings refill their compassion tank. In a city that feels heavy at times, We All Have a Name creates space for Portlanders to reconnect with their shared humanity, to remember that the people on our streets are not problems to be solved, they are human beings with a story. This morning I sat with several volunteers to listen, to learn what is working well, and to identify how we can continue to improve. What stood out most was the blend of consistency and new faces each week, people returning because #relationships are forming, and new volunteers stepping in because they want to be part of something grounded, relational, and hopeful. As someone who once lived that reality myself, I can say this with confidence, the next Lance Orton, now Executive Director of CityTeam Portland, is probably out there right now, waiting for someone to ask their name and ask if they need help. This is what happens when compassion meets consistency. Join the movement by clicking below:👇 ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gB_HEjZp ⬅️ Ryan Buchanan Campbell Larson (Clarey) Michael L.
