Modernizing Data and AI Governance for Mission Impact.

About us

At CDX Data, we’re building data products that simplify the most complex part of digital transformation for education and impact-focused institutions: governance, compliance, and trust in their data. Universities, nonprofits, and global agencies sit on mountains of critical data—but they’re blocked by disconnected systems, rising regulatory pressure, and shrinking IT capacity. We believe these organizations deserve the same level of automated, secure, and scalable data infrastructure that powers the private sector. That’s why we’re building a cloud-native SaaS platform that integrates with common higher education and public systems—ERP, CRM, LMS, grant systems—and enables data products that are governed, queryable, auditable, and compliant by design. Our platform helps teams move from spreadsheets and manual reporting to self-service dashboards, reusable APIs, and automated compliance. We’re proud to be an AWS Select Tier Services Partner, which reflects our proven cloud expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions built on AWS. This designation strengthens our ability to support public and education sector clients with secure, scalable, and innovative data infrastructure aligned to AWS best practices.

I’m pleased to share my guest post on Technical.ly published today for #MLK Day, on the role that #HBCUs play in fueling economic mobility and regional partnerships. In the essay, I explore how historically Black colleges and universities like North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University serve as engines of economic mobility and regional opportunity through their North Carolina A&T STEPS4GROWTH program. Dr. King’s focus toward the end of his life on poverty and structural opportunity offers a timely lens for this work. I consider how, in a rapidly changing economy, ensuring that institutions are equipped to connect students to workforce pathways must be part of honoring that legacy. • Most education and workforce organizations do not have a data problem. They have a systems problem. When systems are fragmented, the symptoms are familiar: • Manual reporting that never really ends • Pipelines that break under real-world conditions • Data quality issues that undermine confidence • Outcome stories that are harder to defend every year The difference between fragmented systems and connected infrastructure is not tooling. It is architecture. Connected infrastructure means: • Standardized learner records across programs and partners • Pipelines designed to be resilient, not perfect • Governance and privacy built in from the start • Interoperability that supports multi-year outcome measurement The organizations preparing most effectively for 2026 are not adding dashboards or point solutions. They are fixing the foundation so reporting, analysis, and AI readiness become easier instead of harder. At CDX Data, we partner with nonprofits and funders to design and implement connected data infrastructure that supports long-term learner outcomes without adding operational burden. If your reporting still feels manual, fragile, or hard to trust, the issue is not effort. It is structure. If your team is stuck on this exact issue, book a discovery call with CDX Data today.

Join CDX Data and practioners from ECMC Foundation and Learn to Earn Dayton for: “Rewiring Opportunity: Building Trust in the Next Generation of Education Data Systems.” We’re designing this as a conversation, not a webinar, of real examples, real challenges, and insights that practitioners can immediately use. If your team is exploring new ways to leverage education data for systems change, this will be time well spent. What’s happening: Panelists: Amal Karim (ECMC Foundation) + Philip Ferrari, MPA (Learn to Earn Dayton) Focus: Data governance, privacy, and cross-sector collaboration from early childhood through workforce. • Just finished reading “How Place-Based Partnerships Are Transforming Rural Schools” from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and it deeply resonated with our team. We highly recommend it. Our founder has had the privilege of supporting education and community initiatives in rural areas across the South and Southwest. The article’s message that place, partnership, and possibility can drive lasting change reflects so much of what we've witnessed firsthand. Real transformation happens when communities come together to reimagine opportunity right where students live and learn. Appreciate the reminder that improving rural education is no less essential than in urban contexts. #Education #RuralDevelopment #PlaceBased #CommunityImpact https://lnkd.in/e23aqJQc

  • We had a great time at EDUCAUSE! Check out some of the highlights over on Austin Thompson, MBA's page. Let us know what other conferences you guys would like to see us at. 👀 #EDUCAUSE

DEEP appreciation for the key connections I made with technology leaders in higher education from across the country at my first EDUCAUSE conference in Nashville, Tennessee! Hearing directly about your desire for a more integrated way to demonstrate real-world research impact and compliance for research grants and the strengths and gaps within today's tech stack was extremely valuable. Thank you to those of you who stopped by our demo and scheduled 1:1 product reviews on-site. Most importantly, I was able to begin new and build upon long-term relationships with public land grant university and HBCU leaders who are as committed as we are at CDX Data to public accountability for funded research. We can prove the naysayers wrong who doubt that we can both strengthen internal, institutional financial resilience and make lasting contributions to broader societal impact. Special thanks to the impeccable Damian Clarke of Alabama State University (thank you for always sharpening my saw) and the entire on-site Amazon Web Services (AWS) team especially Shannie Yeoh for your tireless advocacy for start-ups like CDX. The emerging tech experience, mentorship and ongoing support has been incredibly supportive of our mission to deliver real value our partners. I met too many special folks to shout out here at the conference including other vendors/ potential partners but I'm grateful and look forward to following up. If you are a university leader whom I did not have a chance to connect with this year and you're intrigued about joining our initial cohort, let's schedule some time for a demo soon. Please, show us some love by adding our company page CDX Data. In the meantime, we commit to be laser focused on the next phase of our start-up journey. #Educause2025 #EdTech #CDX #NSF #NIH #DOE #HBCU #AWS #AI

  • 🔍 A sobering new analysis shows U.S. students’ reading and math scores have plunged to historic lows, threatening not just individual futures but our collective capacity to compete and adapt. At CDX Data, we see this decline not just as a statistic—but as a call to action. Over the last several years, we’ve partnered with mission-driven nonprofits in the education space to invest in data modernization, help build robust analytic systems, and surface actionable insights that drive smarter decision-making in classrooms, districts, and communities. This article reinforces three truths we’ve lived through: Data gaps cripple progress. Without reliable, timely data, organizations can’t measure what’s working — much less scale impact. Equity demands precision. The steepest losses are concentrated among students already marginalized by circumstance—those who need better tools, not less attention. Modernization is not optional. Legacy systems, fragmented silos, and outdated processes are actively holding back the potential of educators and learners alike. We believe deeply that to reverse these trends, education funders and practitioners must double down on the infrastructure behind the numbers: interoperable systems, real-time dashboards, and predictive analytics anchored in equity. If your organization is wrestling with how to get from raw data to real impact—especially in underserved communities—let’s connect. Together, we can help build an education ecosystem where every learner is seen, understood, and supported. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/giCN6yMa
