Compassion can look different for everyone. 💙✨ Maybe it’s volunteering your time. Maybe it’s making a donation. Maybe it’s simply sharing our mission with someone else. No act of kindness is too small, and every bit of support helps our community grow stronger together.

It's the Good We Do!
About us
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany is one of the largest, private, social service agencies in the region, helping more than 100,000 people each year in the fourteen counties of the Albany Diocese. Our motive is simple: to address basic human need at all stages of life regardless of race, religious belief, ethnicity, or lifestyle with special emphasis on the poor and vulnerable in our society. Catholic Charities offers a wide spectrum of services, from addressing basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter; to more specialized needs such as mental health counseling, prison support services, programs for low-income families, and disaster assistance. We focus on helping the most vulnerable in our communities, including people with developmental disabilities, pregnant and parenting teens, immigrants and refugees, the unemployed, victims of domestic violence, and the homeless. Catholic Charities advocates on behalf of the poor and vulnerable and collaborates with others to build a more just society.

Catholic Charities is made up of 10 Agencies, each serving our region in a unique and meaningful way. Some are geographically based, rooted in specific counties and communities. Others are service-specific, focused on meeting critical needs such as disabilities services, housing support, health-related care, family and youth services, counseling, and parent education programs. From rural communities to urban centers, each agency responds to the distinct needs of the people it serves with compassion, dignity, and care. Together, they form a strong and responsive network dedicated to creating local impact where it is needed most. ✨ Interested in learning more about each agency and the work they do?
