About us

The Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD) is Canada’s cultural diplomacy organization, operating as a non-governmental organization (NGO). Established in January 2023 and certified under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, the center aims to promote various cultural experiences and exchanges of ideas, presenting the diversity of Canadian culture to the global community. Alongside showcasing the richness of Canadian culture, it supports the development of international cultural relations. The CCCD promotes values of equality, tolerance, and cultural belonging.Through embassies, consulates, international cultural organizations, schools, universities, and other relevant institutions, the CCCD works to promote Canadian culture in fields such as culture, literature, arts, and others. Among the center’s activities are various cultural research, organizing exhibitions, festivals, and concerts, establishing cultural centers, and managing cultural diplomacy projects.

  • Digital Soft Power and Cultural Diplomacy in the Age of Algorithms October 6, 2025 | Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto In an era shaped by digital interconnectivity and algorithmic influence, the concepts of soft power and cultural diplomacy are undergoing a profound transformation. On October 6, 2025, the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD) successfully hosted the international forum “Digital Soft Power and Cultural Diplomacy in the Age of Algorithms” at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto. The forum explored the growing role of artificial intelligence, social media, and emerging digital technologies in reshaping international relations and redefining the practice of diplomacy in the modern world. The event was moderated by Masoumeh Salami, Software Engineer at the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD), who opened the discussion by highlighting how technology continues to transform global communication and diplomatic engagement. Speakers Anastasiia Pokhna, Jamileh Hargreaves, Dr. Adrien Houguet, and Omar Abdelhamid offered diverse perspectives on the evolving intersections between technology and diplomacy. Anastasiia Pokhna emphasized the strategic role of digital storytelling and social platforms in enhancing intercultural understanding. Jamileh Hargreavesaddressed the ethical responsibilities associated with algorithmic systems, underlining the need for transparency and fairness in artificial intelligence–driven diplomacy. Dr. Adrien Houguet analyzed how technological innovation influences diplomatic decision-making and the geopolitical implications of national digital strategies. Omar Abdelhamidreflected on the leadership of youth and civil society in promoting trust, dialogue, and cooperation through digital tools. Held in a hybrid and interactive format, the forum provided an engaging space for participants to exchange ideas, take part in discussions, and analyze the ethical, strategic, and cultural dimensions of digital soft power.   • Highlights from the Masterclass – Featuring Dr. Dilshad Dayani On June 1, 2025, the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD) successfully hosted its prestigious international Masterclass titled “Global Governance: Secrets of Effective Communication, Modern Protocol, and Etiquette” at the elegant Civic Hotel, Autograph Collection by Marriott in Vancouver. This high-impact event served as a dynamic platform to promote intercultural understanding, explore the evolving role of global leadership, and offer participants essential tools in diplomacy, communication, and protocol. One of the standout moments of the day was the remarkable keynote delivered by Dr. Dilshad Dayani—a highly respected expert in global diplomacy, civic engagement, and strategic communication. A professor at Columbia University, UN consultant, and award-winning journalist, Dr. Dayani brought over three decades of experience to the room. Her distinguished career includes roles as a certified mediator, founding Vice-President of Advocacy for the U.S. National Commission for UN Women, board advisor to PBS, and co-chair of the Women of Color Committee during the most recent U.S. presidential election. She has also collaborated with the U.S. State Department on citizen diplomacy initiatives and was honored with President Obama’s Immigrant Journey Award for Professional Excellence in 2015. Her presence and insights left a lasting impression. With authenticity and clarity, she bridged theory and practice, empowering participants to lead with cultural intelligence, empathy, and purpose.
